Does anyone have pics of a nova painted fathom blue?
I want to make a change on my nova and since its nothing special i would like to change the color.I like the misty turquoise but it is just not me.

Love that color. The last pic makes the color look darker. The 68 car i looked at had a darker blue on it. Does anyone know what color blue it is?

On a 68,that was probably code E-Fathom Blue too,but not the same formula as used in 1970 as it came out darker.

Fathom blue (68 or 70) can be all over the place shade wise due to different paint manufacturers. It also can be a difficult color to apply due to the dark color and metallics. I think Pontiac's Atoll Blue was the same exact color

I like the darker shade myself but all the shades look great.

For a comparison, go to the reunion pictures and look at Rick Thayer's 68 Gibb car. That is 68 fathom blue.
What happens when you go to a paint jobber and ask for either 70, or 68 fathom blue, is that you will get a cross match to the next closest color available in base coat clear coat, because the older colors are laquer, or enamel mixing codes. To get as close as possible to the older variations you need a scan off a car of that color, or find someone who has done it before, and has the mixing formula.

Not a Nova but here's my Chevelle. I have no idea how close to factory correct the color is on my car but I really like it. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif
