Dale MacIntosh of Chevelle Stuff, has a neat service that he is doing for our hobby. He monitors the web to see when trim tags are sold (w/o being attached to cars http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsdown.gif ) and lists photos of them on this page (http://ssregistry.chevellestuff.com/index.html) . I know some of you have your own data bases, but you may want to consider populating Dale's page so more of us can use it as a reference.

Thanks Dale for watching out for us! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif

If I may suggest, adding Camaros or all Chevys for that matter might be a huge step forward. I think Team Camaro would contribute big time. I am curious if anyone thinks this could cause any legal issues?

No, its not a legal issue. Especially if photos of them were already placed in the public domain like on ebay.

Hats off to Dale and others who try to keep track and openly post tag #'s but if a buyer or seller is financially hurt as a result of specific #'s appearing before or after a sale, truth or not what stops Dale or whoever posts these from being involved in any legal action that results?.

Also it's always possible for fraudsters to disrupt these databases w/ genuine #'s causing legal issues w/ unaltered cars too while at the same time compromising the validity of the true 'deceased' tags listed..
Even though not just anyone can post or add to these databases, if a crook posted for sale pics of someone's genuine unaltered tags on eBay and they landed on this or another similar site, how do you do to unwind it quickly and determine who's telling the truth?.

Obviously there's no fool-proof way to do it and I'm all for these sites also admire anyone who attempts to thwart the crooks but sadly no one is immune to legal attacks regardless of being in the right or wrong..

my site is down right now as the folks with the server while trying to help me with a different site linked them together some how. I hope to have it back up and running by the first week of Nov. Changing companies/servers
