Have to admit that I got choked up while watching the news tonight. Canadians were lining up on the highway overpasses to salute and welcome home fallen soldiers from Afganistan.
You guys and your fellow countrymen have a lot of compassion and class. And I http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/flag.gif It makes me proud to have had a grandmother that was born & raised in Nova Scotia.
The segment on AIG having another lavish corporate retreat at the taxpayers expense made me want to vomit...those guys suck http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bs.gif

We salute all those soldiers, fallen or returned, Canadian or American who sacrificed so much for the preservation of our way of life. To all those that have served... we THANK YOU!

I was returning to Ottawa from Toronto (eastbound) right when those 6 soldiers were killed last summer. On every overpass stood hundreds of people waving Canadian flags and had signs facing the west bound traffic. This went on for about 30 miles and I could not figure out why since nothing was going on in the other lane of traffic.

Then I see a funeral procession coming towards me holding up 8 lanes of on-coming traffic. Talk about a surge of emotion hitting you as 6 hursts in a row pass you by and then you realize who's remains were in those vehicles. I'll never forget that moment.

Even though that stretch of road is only a few miles long
most of us Canadians and our American friends were also on that road too.
