I am looking for a either NOS or very very good condition USA-1 plate with the wording
"Putting You first Keeps Us First"
Its one of the few things that I need to finish off my car if I can afford it.
Any one have one?

I have a nice original "Putting You First In A Big Way!"
Not exactly sure of the era. I thought it was '66/'70.

Sometime after WWII was when Chevrolet brought the 1-USA slogan to light.I've seen those original heavy plates with a black background too,and reproduced using a much thinner metal later on.
"Grumpys Toy" & "Old Reliable" as well as other famous drag cars have been photographed wearing this plate back in the day,in honor of their past.

Thanks Rick,

I've seen a few of them over the years and never knew how old they were. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif They sure were heavy though.

I too have been trying to date these 1-USA Chevrolet plates as I have some of these NOS. My black background plates have the letters painted with the old sand based reflective paint so when light hits them at night they kind of look illuminated. Really cool plates. I've also seen 60's vintage photos of race cars sporting these plates, I believe James Garner had them on some of his road race Corvettes back in the 68? timeframe.
Sorry Brad, not meaning to hijack your thread.
