got a phone call 5am...(10-26-08) the row of garages where i keep my camaro is on fire.

arson, someone tried to burn down the garage across the street last month, last week the garage nextdoor to him, now the row of garages where my camaro is stored.
I DID NOT KNOW ABOUT THE PREVIOUS FIRES!!

car covered in soot, some tar/rubber melted on the pass side roof, glass, door, & 1/4...

Im lucky i didnt have the car cover on the car, or it would have caught on fire from the dripping hot roof tar/rubber.

I "had" a set of spark plug wires(Taylors) still in the box on top of a metal parts cabinet. they are ashes and melted wires now.

the cabinet was about 18" from the cars pass side door.

Since i have a few Porsche race cars 935's and 962's and the community is small I just got a call about one of the 962 being stored in a storage facility that burned down last week... sounds like an epidemic...I know Hagerty did not have it insured , I hope the guy did or bye bye to 800K . Totally suck ! Glad your car came out of it well.

Holy Sh###!

That really sucks, but thankfully, nobody was injured?

What ever sick twisted person is responsible for this needs to be held responsible.

-----More and more I think and worry about this kind of stuff. It was the most important part of renting the shop I am currently in, and even then you never know when some hateful person or someone trying to climb out of debt the totally wrong way will change your life forever. This should be a heads up for us all. Be diligent, my friends.........Bill S

My family is very involved in our local fire department and we've saved many cars from garage or house fires. I can still remember our members pushing a 1966 427 Corvette Conv.out of a garage fire.

Reading stuff like this turns my stomach, but I'm glad your Camaro is OK.

Luck was definitely on your side with such an easy fix!
The results could have been disastrous!

Never store a valuable car in a garage without a fire supression system... never.

Your car really lived up to its' name! I'm glad it survived. That's a phone call that would make the hair on the back of your neck stand up.
