Sorry that this is such a long post, but I know from here on I will be running putting the finishing touches on the show, travelling to Chicago and getting ready.

First and foremost, I want to thank the Clary family for hosting this great site and especially for allowing me to spread the word about the Chevy Vettefest. The success of this show indeed owes a huge debt to the site and its members.

I want to let everyone know about ALL of the special Showcase collections, as each one is, well, pretty mind blowing. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif I truly feel honored to host these cars and more importantly, the owners who have agreed to share them with all of us. Obviously the cars are great, but what really makes the show are the people behind them and the many stories and the history that go along with them. PLEASE take the time to meet the owners and see what makes them tick!

And...another teaser for your;

I don't want to steal all of the thunder from Stefano, but I know he has some really cool stuff in store for us also.

Obviously the Big News is the Official Launch of the new Gen 5 Nickey Camaro.

Following the "Back In The Day" Formula that put Nickey on the map, they will be offering Stage I, Stage II and Stage III variations. I'll let Steve and the crew fill in the blanks.

Steve has many things planned for the Nickey display including having the engine builders who are handling this new project, samples of some of the engine parts and interior information, lots of specifications, ordering information and even a new Gen 5 Nickey T-Shirt. Many of the people that Nickey Chicago has working on this project will bet on hand to give you all of the details. This is history in the making!

In addition to this, Mr. Bimbi is hosting Floyd Garrett, who will be premiering his latest restoration, a 1962 Bubble Top RED/RED 409 that is sure to be a show stopper. We look forward to having Mr. Floyd as a part of the show for many years to come!

Other cars in the Nickey display;
1. a 67 427 Corvette Roadster
2. a 69 Yenko Chevelle
3. The one and only 02 1000+ hp Nickey Camaro
4. A particular Nickey inspired Nova
5. The "Nova On A Sunday" Racer
6. a Black on Black 69 Z/28

Well, I wont tell you all of them, but suffice it to say, each one is a show stopper.

Our Thanks go to Stefano Bimbi for being a huge part of the successful re-birth of the Chevy Vettefest.

It aint the "same-old/same-old" show, now is it?

PLEASE: Tell your friends to join us November 22-23 and help me to knock this one "out of the park!"

Almost? What do you mean almost?

O'Hare Airport is a 5-minute ride to the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center! There are some great last minute deals going on now too. My Son just booked a flight from Detroit to O'Hare for under $100 round trip.

Maybe you can hide away in Bbbenny of ScSams trailer?

Dont know why, but Mark Mitchells entry didn't show up on the sYc Showcase list. It is the "Pilot" 1970 LS6 Chevelle, restored by Rick Nelson.

Also, the Red Alert is an LS6 Chevelle, and the world's most famous one at that!

Awesome lineup, no doubt about. With upwards of 80 cars, it is not only the lagest turnout of sYc member's cars at a CVF, but surpasses any previous "supercar" showcase. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif

well worth the trip from ANYWHERE in the country.......or world for that matter. i live near rosemont and went to new jersey to pick up the Y-chevelle from chris short, just to drive back to illinois for this show. i havent been excited about bringing a car/cars to a Vettefest since 1987!!!!!! if that doesnt say something about the way Bob and the guys from Championship Autoshows have turned this show around, i dont know what does. i may take some pics from the time we arrive at the staging area to the time we leave, to show everyone that is hesitant about bringing cars to Vettefest how enjoyable and easy it really is. again Bob, great job so far for all the showcases that you and others have lined up !! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/worship.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif

I can't do any of this without the support of guys (actually families!) like you and the rest of my sYc Family. Geez, it may sound sappy, but I do consider many of you "family".

The truck is loaded and I will be headed down 94 early tomorrow morning. I have several live radio interviews which I will be making from the road and for everyone in the Chicago area, watch WGN tomorrow, (Tuesday) you'll be seeing some familiar faces and some familiar cars!

Bob and Steve what a gr8 job on the show. I am sorry i didn't make this one. Truly a gr8 line up of some really cool cars. What a job you guys did on assmebling a very fine show. I don't think i have seen quite a line up of cars like this in a while. Maybe in the next year i can have the 69 X-Ram JL8 done followed by the 67 Baldwin Motion Chevelle, 68 Baldwin motion Camaro, 69 Gold Yenko Camaro. They are all under way and good progress being made. The 68 BM Camaro will be the last completed. I hope you guys have a tremendous turnout. I'm stuck in cold Florida, yes cold, w/ kids for fall holiday. Best of luck!
