Trans vin stamp and block stamp look different to me? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

This is the original engine and trany to this vehicle, you can tell the engine vin stamp was double struck by looking at the N9 in the vin. This is the born with drive train. Thanks Mike

The characters are different on the trans and engine stamps, nothing to do with the double stamp. Maybe they used two sets of stamps.

Why would they use two sets? Have you seen that before?

I have seen the two sets of VIN stamps before.

Mike,
I suspected. AC with 3.73 seemed unusual. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I've seen real cars with not only double stamping ( stamper hit it twice ) but born with drive trains that the numbers where a couple digits off where the stampers' apparently got out of sync. I'm sure the guys doing the stamping had no idea their handy work would be of importance forty years down the road.

Thanks Guys, car is sold and is going to the New York area. Hate to see her go but now I can focus more on my COPO. Mike
