I have a Stewart Warner 990D ignition monitor for 970 series tachometers. This sender is needed to make SW Pedestal tachometers function. This monitor is is excellent condition. It was used for one year in 1968. In 1969, the tach and sender were stored until now. I do not have a car with a CD ignition so I cannot test it. I will guarantee it to work. $225

Just to clearify, when I say it was only used in 1968 I am talking about this sender only seeing one year of use. The 990D sender was made to be used on all SW 970 series tachometers.

What's up with the hole in the middle of it?

There is a adjuster screw of some type. Only 990D senders have it. I am not sure what it is for. I will see if the pedestal tach instructions I have say anything about it.

OK, I found it. The screw it to tune out erratic needle movement. Also, the instructions say that the 990D can be used as a replacement for 990B. This sender will also work on points ignitions! Joe, if you had to ask about the adjuster screw that means you need one of these.

Ha! Actually I have a couple 990D's I've never taken out of the boxes... good info, I never knew them to have a screw in the middle... If it wasn't 1:30 AM I'd go dig one out and look... here all this time I thought they were only good as cabinet decorations! Maybe I should start reading the instructions... http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I tested the sender on a points ignition system and it works well.
