Although far less than US troop losses in Iraq it's certainly not a happy milestone to reach..
Prayers and condolences to family and friends of these brave lads!.

I have to be politically correct and polite to all the Republican members..........so I cant write what I'm thinking.......

As I visited my fathers grave site at Tahoma Nat'l Cemetary in Maple Valley,WA (rural Seattle) on Veteran's day, I drove by all the fresh dirt and new sod covering the all too many graves of those Americans killed in Iraq/Afghanastan.......and shed my tears and shake my head.......WHY, WHY, WHY

Sincerely, Chuck Sharin

Our son is also over there with those guys. All from Base Petawawa. It was a tense day for us until we found out who was killed. The parents of one of the lads live fairly close to us. I hope they soon get serious about finishing this war or just drop the BIG bomb and leave.

Keith,

I hope your son stays safe. I was there two years ago and will be heading back in a few months. The threats were relatively low then. The winter months are usually quieter due to the winter climate. The warm months are a different story though.

It was always a treat to deal with the Canadians and Brits. They seemed to cut through the bs and were very effective at their missions.

My thoughts and prayers are with all soldiers defending our freedoms.

Phil Woj.

Very. very sorry to hear that! I know what the soldiers and families are going through. Chuck, you are a hero to me just like ALL the others who have and are serving! We must continue to stand behind our troops and their families. When one grieves we all grieve. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/flag.gif Sam

The Canadians have always done their part to fight for freedom along side the brave soldiers of the United States and other nations. It is too bad that the media doesn't give more time to recognize the sacrifices so many people are making in the cause of freedom. If some rock star or Hollywood type cheats on his wife, that's front page news...a soldiers death may only get a footnote on some inside page.

Yesterday was the 66th anniversary of the D-Day landings in Normandy...probably the biggest single military event of all time...yet it was hardly mentioned in print or the web. How soon we forget those who have served and paid the price for the freedom we all enjoy.

All the best to all those who bravely stand guard so we don't have to.....wilma

I can't thank these families enough, who selflessly gave their loved ones choice and encouragement to do what they feel must be done. I believe you are either born with it or you're not. If it's your calling you go.

God bless, good luck, and Thank You!

Our son came home from Afghanistan a year ago this past April. Last Friday, the Governor General gave out five Military Medals of Valour. Omemee was well represented. Mark McLaren wasn't so fortunate and his family accepted his award. Our son Dave, got his for some battle field heroics. We are all proud of our boys. http://www.gg.ca/document.aspx?id=13659 http://www.daylife.com/photo/0apjbOA8fX8pZ?q=Ottawa

I am very sorry to hear of more deaths. The exact same area where my pals son, Joe Theinert was taken earlier this month.

My sincere condolences to all the families who have suffered in these tragic losses.

Prayers for safe home to all the young men and women who wrote the blank check to their governments for "up to, and including my life." <<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/worship.gif God Bless.
