I thought it was amusing that they said he was engaging in "pay to play" tactics, in other words, bribe him, and he'll make you a Senator. Blagojevich never wanted to govern, he just wanted money. He was your typical corrupt Illinois politican. Our last Governor is still in jail, now it looks like this one will be going to the slammer too. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
Blagojevich's first move as Governor was to double the toll fees on our highways, something no other Governor had the guts to do. And 3 months ago, long before this latest scandal, he had an 11% approval rating. We have lousy roads, crappy public schools, high taxes, our state is nearly bankrupt, and Chicago is the murder capital of America (thanks to Mayor Daly for that honor). These Democrats have done a fine job in this state.
So what can we do about our corrupt Illinois politicians?
We sent one of our Senators (Obama) to Washington D.C. to become President, so he can spread this love to the rest of the country. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/flag.gif

Dont forget our friends on the crook county board enacting the highest tax rate in the country and then immediately asking for 700 million more!!!!
Until we stop letting the Media elect our politicians we are going to continue to have the high quality of public servants we deserve.

I'm sure he'll come up with a plausable explanation, something like......
he was only doing it to help the children.
Yeah that's it, he just wanted to help the children. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bs.gif

That would work but the complaint stated that Blago (Blowdryavitch) had or was threatening to withdraw $8 million dollars from the childrens hospital unless the director made a 50k contribution.

I'm surprised it took this long to nail him. They should throw his father-in-law, Dick Mell, in jail with him for good measure. Now there's one Republican Governor and one Democratic Governor in jail...let it not be said that Illinois is not an equal opportunity state for crooked politicians.
Boy is this a long time coming.
They're gonna have to build a Governors wing at Joliet correctional.
First Gov.Powell, then Gov.Kerner, then Gov.Walker, then Gov.Ryan, now Blogo busts out and makes them all look like first year cubscouts..He's the first Il. Gov. to be taken away in handcuffs while still in office.
The decisions, actions, allegations of corruptness and just plain bold stupid statements of our Governor have been mind boggling to all of us for some time.
Today the FBI is assembling a list of people who were to afraid or to ignorant to come forward that have evidence of corruptness and encounters first hand w/Blogo that were previously ignored up until today.
The big question everyones asking is,How widespread is this?
The FBI's motto during all of this is,"Get on the Bus,or get thrown under it".
If there's any consolation in all this,it's that Illinois government can only go up from here.
Knock on wood..
I just do not believe we have crooked politicians in this country. Not possible. These people love us and only care about our well being. Money means nothing to them. It's all about serving the people. What's next? No Santa?

Let's see....
Governor Blagojevich is involved in bribery and corruption. Blagojevich will be going to jail.
Blagojevich was elected to office because of the massive corruption charges of our previous Governor, George Ryan.
George Ryan was convicted as sentenced to 6-1/2 years in prison because of massive corruption charges. Before he left office (in 2003), as a last gasp attempt to have the courts shorten his sentence, George Ryan commuted the death sentences on every prisoner (167 in all). Didn't work, he's still in jail.
Illinois Attorney General William Scott was convicted in 1991 on income tax charges involving misuse of campaign funds.
U.S. Rep. Daniel Rostenkowski was convicted in 1994, when he was indicted on corruption charges for his key role in the House post office scandal. He was forced to step down from all Congressional leadership positions. In elections later that year, Rostenkowski lost his seat and retired from political life. Bill Clinton pardoned him in 2000.
Operation Silver Shovel, a federal probe into Chicago city government, ended in 1996 with 18 convictions and guilty pleas from public employees and six aldermen.
Operation Greylord, a federal probe into the Chicago court system, was completed in 1988 with convictions and guilty pleas from 87 court personnel and attorneys, including 13 judges, who all went to jail.
And we sent Illinois Senator Obama to Washington D.C. to "clean things up". Makes you wonder how Obama obtained $750 million in campaign funds, huh? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif

Believe you me, I warned as many people as I could about Barack Hussein Obama. But the media, naive young people, and those that wanted to "make history" in electing an African-American President, out voted me.

It's not hard to figure out which of the posters here vote Republican, although Rod sure got caught with his pants down. So I guess vote early and often in Chicago is out of the question? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

There is no point in comparing Republican crooks to Demacrat crooks. A crook by any other name is still a crook. If convicted, that makes 4 out of the past 8 IL govs sent to the Big House. From both side of the aisle.
Obama is blameless, or he would be "Under" the bus, instead of "On" it. At least Obama is making an attempt to create an more non-partisan administration, as opposed to he what his predasessor wrought, rejecting Justice Dept applicants because of their political beliefs.
I believe in the Pledge of Allegence, where we stand Undivided.
I also believe that in America you are presumed innocent until proven guilty. Give the man a fair trial, THEN hang him.
Please, no more partisan politics. If you want to drill a hole under your seat in the boat, remember that we will all sink together. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/flag.gif
