Looks like both Warren and Kurt Johnson have lost their GM sponsorship. More to follow http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mad.gif

I've heard yes/no...CompetitionPlus had an article, but someone @ GMPP/Delco said they didn't know what they were talking about...if true, major bummer!

I agree that it would be bad for the different sports. But it is also bad P.R. to spend millions on race teams while you are asking the American people for a handout.

NASCAR gives GM about their biggest bang for the buck in their advertising programme. They might cut back but I doubt that Jimmy Johnson will be gone. I've heard that GM spends several thousand dollars per vehicle in advertising. I'm sure that they will be looking pretty closely at where all this money is going. I've also heard that approximately 80% of a well run company's business comes from referrals. It doesn't matter whether it is the corner store or GM. Some never learn this vital little point. GM is learning a little late.

Probably because a foreign car has as much in common with the "Chevy" that Jimmy Johnson drives as the Chevys in the dealer lots. Unfortunately, "what wins on Sunday, sells on Monday" is a thing of the past. Nascar is the one that killed that.
It is just as silly to see a Top Fuel dragster or funny car with "Ford", "Dodge", or "Toyota" written on the body.
