Did anyone see the new HR magazine? The editor letter on page 10 by Rob Kinnan called the STARTING LINE has the headline "The Yenko Lives"...He goes on about how he was only 2 years old when the Yenko's came out, and how he has never had the pleasure to ride in one yadda yadda yadda..He is clammering over the new 10' Camaro's and has a plea for Don Yenko to build new Yenko's. "Yo Don, it's time to do it again." is his battle cry. I guess he didn't get the memo that Don passed away in 1987. Crack journalism for sure. But hey, why let the facts get in the way....BKH http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif

I dropped Hot Rod magazine in the late 80s. Don't see any good reason to subscribe now either. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

I get the magazine because my kids always sell them for school projects. Sooo, Hot Rod was the one I picked this time. Doing no research and getting paid for it seem to be the way things are done nowadays. He also loves the Yenko decals and the stiching on the headrests, "its 1968 again, only better". Really, I love the sYc headrests and YENKO/SC graphics on the 68 Yenko's too...Ooops, thats 1969, but hey, its in print, I guess we are all wrong, after all it's in a magazine right?..BKH http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bs.gif

Not that big a fan of Hot Rod; I get Car Craft and Hemmings Muscle Cars :two thumbs up:

The only thing is that I wish Hemmings Muscle would increase their auction coverage besides just 2 - 3 pages.

Take it for what’s its worth, an editorial. An opinion based article. He could write about anything he so desires, it’s his page to tute his horn. I am not saying that he should write with inaccuracies and false claims, but the rest of the magazine is well balanced for those looking for automotive entertainment. The caliber of writer of greater at Hot Rod than its competitors, even if his editorial is the exception to the rule.

I always wondered how some of these guys keep their jobs. A lot of these articles are FILLED with misinformation. I mean come on? How hard is it to type a few words into google and do a search before you submit some crap article?

Opinion based article? He's asking Don Yenko to build a new Yenko Camaro for 2010. Thats not an opinion, that's just plain moronic...BKH http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsdown.gif

The same moronic editor is probably wondering why John F. Kennedy didn't run for the democratic nomination for the 2008 election...and why Kurt Cobain hasn't recorded any new songs lately...and why he can't seem to find a baby T-Rex for his kid at the local animal shelter. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif

This might help explain things.

"Rob Kinnan was formerly the editorial director for ProMedia and editor of Race Pages for more than five years. Under his direction, Race Pages saw tremendous growth and became the leading <font color="blue"> Ford </font> drag racing-specific publication in the country."

Most guys supplying the articles to these magazines spruce them up a bit and know it. They are trying to sell the article and put it out there for the magazines to buy. In other words thay are selling it and in selling it , they write it to sell, not always accurate. Most guys supplying the guys with articles get $250-$300 per page , not a lot for what they do. They have competition amongst themselves to compete for spots in the magazines. Every article that i have on any of my cars, i make sure i proof it before it goes to print, i don't want to send misinformation to anyone. Most of the time the owner of the car knows it when it goes to print and doesn't stop it, however, there is usually a reason. It's when they do it purposely to sell an article that drives me crazy. They too, should be credible, not just selling. Geoff Stunkard does a good job, some others, want call names, but, start magazines, take your money, don't refund your money and write non-credible articles just for money! This is not to take anything away from credible jounalist. I know they have a magazine to sell, but, crediblity can only be stretched so far. I have more of a problem when the owner of the vehicle doesn't stop it if they can.

Jesus, you guys.... If you're this surprised at finding typos or misinformation in certain magazines, you haven't been reading them much. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif Kidding, of course...kinda.
