The Selling Dealership is in the town of West Chicago. That Dealership was purchased by Mr."Ed" formerly of Brigance Chevrolet and then Fencl Tufo and is Now called Cross Roads Chevrolet.
Was this LS6 in Dublin, CA for sale at Kassabian Motors a few years ago. I am sure that it is the same car.
Wasn't this car at Russo/Steele this year, no sale at 115k?Also, was it listed on ebay by Duffy's awhile back for a buy it now of 90k? If so,it is a nice car!

I have no idea why you would restore a car with 4881 miles on it, I think it would be worth much more unrestored.

I have no idea why it was restored.. I guess when of the previous owners had a crazy idea??
Everyone that has seen the this before stated how it should have been left alone and not restored.

seems like it was a better buy with the BIN of $90k than the current offer of $139k, especially in light of the economy ...

What is the point of a comment like this? Just to point out that 90 is less than 139 for those that do not know?
Sometimes I wonder why people put their cars for sale on here. There are always people that can't wait to find something to pick apart. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

That's what I was wondering now that the cat is out of the bag. If it did not sell at 90K, it must be too cheap or something is not right. Lets jack up the price to 139K. Buyers will rush in. Only in America. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

If you were in the market to buy this car, would you pay 139K for it knowing that this car did not sell for 90K had you not seen the past sale price. I don't think so. That is why this forum is priceless. Knowledge is power and in this case it might save someone enough money to buy another quality car. Not bashing, just pontificating.

LMAO.. Im not trying to start a pissing match because honestly I dont care, but what I ask for car is up to me isnt it? If you dont like it dont buy it pretty simple..
Everyone says how the economy has effected these cars, and yes I agree on the JUNK STUFF and MASS PRODUCED STUFF, and on the cars that doubled and trippled in price, but please show me where GREAT LEGIT PAPER WORK cars are selling for way less?? Im talking $150k and under because Im always looking for a good buy and havent been able to find these so called deals.
I dont recall seeing the car advertised with a BIN of 90k (not saying it wasnt) but I dont think it would have lasted long at that price considering some junk/questionable LS6 cars have sold recently or around 80k-85k range, I know it was bid up to around $115k at Russo last year and Joe and Sam wanted A LOT more for it then, at any rate what it has been bought for or sold in the past really doesnt matter, its the price now.
There are quite a few LS6's listed for sale on the net and ebay for more than this car that dont hold a candle to it..IMO
In the world of RESTAMPS and BOGUS PAPER WORK a well known car with pedigree and owner history like this car has will be a great car to own and a sound investment..IMO
139k is the asking price who knows what it could really be bought for? I just listed at the price my friend said to ask for it, I recently sold it to him and he has since found another car he wants more.
And scorpio ps, The car did sell for 90k actually quite a bit more than that because I was the one who bought it from Joe the guy who has owned it for at least the last year. (Maybe I got screwed?? I SURE DONT THINK SO) And yes there are guys willing to pay more for it and there from THIS SITE dealing on it now, if a deal happens I'll be sure to post the price (buyer permiting) so the next time it is sold for more we can bring this up again..
A car is worth what someone is willing to pay for it if you found a killer deal on and bought a car for $500 buck and it was worth $100k and I wanted the car I sure wouldnt have a problem paying you for it even if I knew what you paid.

Whether you like the price is irrelevant, if you're not interested just move on , no need to comment. The for sale section is for those that are interested in buying and selling cars. I or anyone else has the right to ask an amount they feel justified. Please refrain from bashing the car or the owner.

Andrew,
Well said, past sale amounts should not have a bearing on current asking price whether it be higher or lower.

This car has had many owners over the years. Unfortunately, one of them (a few years ago) did not have the sense that God gave a goose, and thought it would be a great idea to start a frame-off restoration http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif Upon the realization that it was more work than he really planned, it was put on eBay, partially done, as a "you-finish-it" project.

WHY WOULD IT NEED TO BE RESTORED??
quick-bowtie
12-13-2008, 08:47 AM
The car was hit in the late 70's (plenty of post on this site about this car) and was repaired (passengerside) but other than that it was largely original and should have stayed that way.
It shouldnt have been restored but one of the previous owners didnt understand what he had or wasnt thinking and decided to restore it. The car is exceptional now but from the people Ive talked to about the car it was very nice before the Chassis and Engine Compartment Resto.

Agreed Sean - nonmembers and probably folks who never owned a musclecar before seem to be the loudest voices talking about how good or bad this car is and the value for the $$. This is a sweet-looking, well-documented ride. I'd be more than honored to own this car - it makes my LS6 quake in its boots. What kills me are the comments like, "It seemed like a better deal at $90K, particularly in this economy." It sure was a better deal - the seller was smart enough to execute when that was the price.

Wow!! What is with the new Happy members joining this site??
Here are a couple of PM's Im recieved from RobsLS6
"Those of us that are LS6 folks know all about this car. It has been around the block many times. Why doesnt your "friend" list it himself?"
"Your lack of response says it all,but I will add that most know this car and to say it was hit is being kind. Why don;t you tell eveyone publically that the car is for sale a MacClean Classics in Ontario? Are ou all middlemen or does someone reelly own it?"
First off Im listing this car for a friend, His name is Tim here lives in Victoria, MN (Minneaplois area) and thats where the car is located I will give you his number is you'd like!! If your a BUYER! He is trying to sell the car and knows a few people so Im assuming he had the guy in Canada list it on his site too (He wants to sell it and advertising usually helps do that).. Heck it might even be listed in more places I couldnt tell you. As for him selling it himself he is a busy guy and doesnt like dealing with tire kickers or the B.S. like this.
I can tell you I listed it as a favor and am not making a penny off it.. not that it matters.
I dont know if your pissed because the car is getting more attention then your "PERFECT LS6" or not but for you to take time out of your day to write such stupid PM's and your own response's to your own ads pretty much tells me what kind of person you are.
Also where is my lack of response?? I dont understand that question? This car is very well known and its complete history is on this site along with a few of its previous owners. Unlike some other LS6 forsale on this site??
SERIOUS INQUIRES ARE WELCOME TO CONTACT ME AND I WILL GET YOU IN TOUCH WITH THE OWNER.

Andrew, I use PM because it is not my intention to publically embarass or argue with anyone. You pparently choose not to respond to PM,but to post them publically. What is your point? All I was asking was who owns this car amd who is selling it? I think that is a fair question when something is offered for sale in a public forum for that amount of money. If public pontificating makes you feel better, knock yourself out.

I have to say this thread has sunken to the reason many people don't want to post their cars for sale on this site. Trust me, I hear that alot. It was a pm and probably should have stayed a pm. Usually we ask people to take stuff to PM and this is what happened but now it is here.

My other 2 cents is ....People come up with the comments like "price is high during these times" etc. There are also other comments like " what a great price, it is worth that and more" etc. My personal belief is when guys start chiming in that it is such a great price...they are opening the subject of value up for negative comments also. My personal opinion is to leave both type of comments out.

Its been around the block may times??
What does that mean?? maybe I took it wrong but I like most would think there is something wrong with the car or that I was trying to hide something WHICH ISNT THE CASE.
Sorry Charley I will keep the PM's to myself. It just pissed me off and more times than not I act before I think.

I owned this car at one time and was going to restore it but a poor business venture forced me to sell. It is truly a very nice car and one I would like to have back if I had the coin. The previous owner I purchased the car from started to restore it and eliminated the originality of the underneath of the car. here are some photos.

-----I was the second owner of this LS6. I bought it from Rick. The primary reason for the resto is that the car was in an accident back while I owned it with a partner. The amount of damage has always been the subject of discussion but suffice to say, the whole car was painted after that accident. The work was done by one of the best body and paint guys I ever knew. He has since passed. The car was owned by a salesman at Bill Jacobs Chevrolet named Horace when it was fixed. Someone in Michigan bought it from him and I lost track of it. The next time I saw it the car was at one of Danas auctions probably about 9 years ago, and the paint had gone substantially down hill. The car then made its way to California and was traded around some more. It was in the last Russo+Steele auction and I noticed Terbeeks name on the board but there was nobody there to talk to. He has had some nice cars and to his credit the car looked good. If you look at the vintage pics you can see the need for underhood freshening and now you know the reason for the paint. Any more questions that I can answer I will be happy to do so. Restored or not Ricks old car is a treasure and if any LS6 is worth the money I would think this one would be........Bill S
