Ok I have been pondering which tires would be most correct for my 69.
The car was built 2nd week of July 1969 Baltimore plant.
Dusk Blue 396- 350HP Parchment bucket seats no console 4 speed.
I have the kelsey tires in mind for my car.
The tire I was thinking of was the F70/14 Speedway Wide Tread RWL F70/14 Speedway Wide Tread RWL (http://www.kelseytire.com/pages/largepopup/F70-14SPWT.html)
So what do you guys think? Good choice or not?

I think for 69 to early 70 cars . They had the raised white letter only on the Good Year on the tire and did not get the Raised white letter in the F70-14 tire size.

My '69 was built the 5th week of July '69 (07E)at Kansas City. I was told the Goodyear Polyglas no size was correct for my car.

Either one of these Goodyear tires are good for this SS396 Chevelle. It's called the "no size" tire on the Polyglas. They also used F70 X 14" Uniroyal and Firestone but no correct reproductions are available in these tires. I have a photo of the original Firestone and Uniroyals in my 1969 Camaro fact book.

I have never seen a documented 69 with a Polyglas tire.

I agree. No Polyglas 'til the '70 model. I'd go with the tire pictured above for a '69.

I know some have speculated that rpo PL4 may have been a polyglas tire, it was offered after April of 1969. Although the option has been found on later car window stickers no cars have been found with polyglas tires. Of course finding cars with orig tires is extremely rare, but the one we have found, none have had original polyglas tires(this includes late production camaros. If there is/are examples please provide them so we can all be enlightened.

Redlines with a Dusk Blue and a white convertible top.
The car would look like some bicentennial car http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif

Still waiting for that genuine 1969 Chevy to show up with its 'polyglas' tire's. An original old photo would do. Every single Goodyear tire I have seen factory installed never has the words "polyglas" in the lettering...BKH

Brad,

My 06A Baltimore Chevelle was delivered with RWL: "GOODYEAR WIDE TREAD F70-14". This photo (http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/showflat.php/Cat/0/Number/268898/page/0/fpart/9/vc/1) was taken on the 2nd day home from the dealership. I have the Kelly tires you have pictured above on the car today.
