I have my original air cleaner lid and the chrome is bad on the top outside and the bottom where the silk screen AC instructions are is in ok condition. I need to get my lid re chromed and if I do this the print on the bottom will be history so has any one made a die cut to reduplicate this AC instructions?

Make sure you specify "Flash Chroming" to your plater.
I didn't express that to mine, and it came back looking like cake frosting covering up all the crisp corners and edges.
Too thick and also too shiny.

Only thing you can do is buy the Paragon AC lid with silk screen. It's nice and we use them alot! No other options that I know of.

I have a local person who said they can make a rubber roll stamp that will work. Dont know the cost of it yet, so I dont know if it is going to be worth it. Any one know if there is market to this kind of thing to reproduce?

mr70, how much did it cost you to have it done?

I agree with the suggestion to specify 'flash chroming'. Also, I believe Paragon reproductions will silkscreen your lid. That way, you at least have your original lid.

Brad,

Had mine replated two years ago and the plater was able to cover the silk sreen up with some type of tape.It didn't turn out that bad,a little leaked thru and it did leave a tape outline mark.As long as you retain the original silk screen and can't see it with the lid on who cares about the tape outline.

-------Since there are less steps involved it ought to be cheaper, but in reality because its something out of the ordinary they may charge you a bit more than a full-tilt chrome plate. Life in the fast lane,,,LOL........Bill S
