Hello All,

I am a long time Camaro Owner and I'm sure like most suffer from the woulda, coulda, shouldas. In 1983 I attended the Super Chevy Show at Maple Grove Raceway in PA.

At that show was a Kelly Green 1969 Yenko Camaro for sale. I think it was a 4-speed car, and it appreared complete but in need of a restoration. They wanted a priceley sum of $6500! From what I recall a mint condition 1969 non Yenko Camaro could be had for less money.

The car stands out in my memory because it was the first Yenko Camaro I ever saw in person. I had just purchased a 1983 L69 Z/28 so a 1st gen project was not possible. As it turns out the 83 L/69 was somewhat rare in it's own right, but nothing like a Yenko http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

It would be cool to find out that someone picked this car up and restored it and it lives on today. Does this car ring a bell with anyone?

Thanks

Over the years many great dirt cheap cars have shown up at the Maple Grove Super Chevy show. I remember one year, late 80's maybe early 90's 2 project LS6 chevelles show up at $1500 each!!!! Also there was a guy who gutted and parted out a 1965 Z16 and brought all the original parts with him to sell since he turned it into a race car.

If my memory serves correctly this was the first Super Chevy Show at Maple Grove. The turn out was good but the next year was crazy. Bill Jenkins was there and drove the Old Reliable 409 Biscayne for an exhibition run.

Also, this Yenko Camaro had a Black vinyl top.

There were several rally green '69 y-camaros sold in the area, so it could have been any of them. It's too hard to pin that one down.

[/ QUOTE ]I remember that event! The line out the road and up the hill were crazy. The place in those days was a ZOO. I loved the expresson on Grumps face when he took the Ole car down the strip. Those few years were the best Super Chevy ever had IMO. Now, I don't even go! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/no.gif

Maybe the time-frame could be the key. I wish I took a picture but I recall it very well. The car appeared to have been stored for a long time, but it was complete as far as stripes and emblems. Like a barn car which was a 14 years old at the time.

A mint Cortez Silver 69 SS was for sale nearby for $5000. My buddies and I joked about the condition and price difference between the two. I missed out on Microsoft stock too http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I was there in 83 and 84. I'll look through the pictures.
