Looking real nice for the auctions 10 days out (http://www.weather.com/outlook/events/sports/tenday/USAZ0207?from=36hr_fcst10DayLink_sports)
It will be very cool in the evenings so bring sweaters, sweatshirts, jackets, and those other back east/northerly type garb that is worn in cold wx.
Also, Rt 101 (the main hi way that loops thru Scottsdale) has been improved since last yr. They have added an HOV lane from the 202 which crosses the 101 just south of Scottsdale, north to about (help me phx locals) Indian Bend Rd (Pavillions). This will help commuters from the south moving north toward the auctions. This will be further improved toward the auctions by next year. It will also provide a bit of relief to the 101 loop in the vicinity of the auctions as the bottle necks down south have been relieved. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif
This concludes your action news flash report! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/youguysrock.gif
P.S. a little birdie told me Colin will be at the big P car show this Saturday, so avoid/approach at your own risk. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

New speed cameras are EVERYWHERE. Pay attention to the signs warning you that they are ahead! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/scholar.gif
The DPS also has vans parked along the side of the hightway to serve the same purpose...and finally, I saw a DPS motor officer using his radar gun in the vicinity of the Frank Lloyd Wright exit...so be on the watch for them as well!
By the way...say hi to Colin for me...I will be at Supercross from 8am tomorrow until 11pm tomorrow night.

I'm flying in from Alaska on Tuesday. It's been below 0 since Dec. 27th. I think I might get a sun burn in what Arizonan's consider "jacket weather".
How do I find Pavillions?

We were off to a good start at Pavillions this evening.....Sam was in attendance with that awesome 62 Savoy, Colin (nice to meet you!) was there with a very bright lime green foreign exotic (I think it was a Lamborghini http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif ), and by virtue of arriving late (3:30 pm), I got to park the Chevelle somewhere approaching the New Mexico border. Also caught a brief glimpse of Charley in my wanderings there. Definitely a packed house, but still not as crowded as it will be next Sat nite. Sorry, didn't bring a camera so no pictures....with that many people looking, pictures are too much work anyway http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Never say anything good about the weather forecast that far out in advance! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/no.gif It can only get worse! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif But seriously, I hope the weather holds out and gets people in a good mood. We're expecting the coldest temps in the last 10-15 years by the end of this week so I'll be inside trying to stay warm.

Jeff - predicting wx out here in the desert is different than the rest of the US. You CAN make some long range predicitons with confidence. Plus Dave (ngtflyr) has access to some long range flight planning technology that puts the icing on the cake wrt confidence. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Hey Bill - boy, I didn't even see that transaction with the '67 Muira happen. Mark M (Dreemz) drove in with the lime green (Muira green) Lambo and you are saying Colin now owns it!!!!! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif JK! Really, that prodigously sleek s*x on wheels is Dreemz ride. A transversely mounted 12 cylinder that has the sweetest growl. Arguably one of the 1st super cars!!! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/headbang.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/worship.gif
Great to visit with you Bill. Your wonderful '69 is looking peachy and the latest photos you received from the original owner are the icing on the cake. Bill received at least one offer to buy his incredible Chevelle from a serious Canadian Collector. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/headbang.gif

If I had Charley's money I'd own it http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
For now I am perfectly content driving my crappy 65 GT350 with the Paxton on it around here. Even if the seat belts are "too small" for some members that have ridden in it http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif
I do love that damn Miura, reminds me of my old Eddie Lawson KZ1000! Will be at RM to see if their Miura S is any good. Mark knows they are few and far between...the search continues

Jim, as most restaurants in the Phoenix area are of the chain variety (nothing wrong with that, per se, just not very original), perhaps you might be interested in trying out a few local specials.
For steak, I'd try Durant's. It's on Central Ave near downtown, and is easy to get to from where you're staying. It's been there since 1950, I believe, which for Phoenix is quite old. It has that great 50's Rat Pack vibe to it and the food is good. http://phoenix.about.com/od/phoenixsteak/gr/durants.htm
For Italian, definitely try Pizzeria Bianco. Also located downtown. It was voted by one food magazine as the best pizza in the US. Living in NYC (so I think I have a decent comparison), I can say it is quite good. Chris brings in water from NYC to make the dough (it makes a difference, believe it or not), makes his own mozzarella, and usues all organic tomatoes. Make sure to get the tomato, basil and mozzarella appetizer. http://www.pizzeriabianco.com/
For Mexican, there's a bunch of places, but since I've stuck with the downtown area, I'll recommend Los Dos Molinos in South Phoenix. http://www.losdosmolinosaz.com/
I'll actually be back in AZ from Friday on restoring my 442 at my parents house, so if you want to swing by, feel free. Haha.

I concur with 68tom. Los Dos Malinos has taken alot of spice out of their recipes but still good. Add Rosa's mexican at university and mesa drive in mesa arizona if you want the best hole in the wall fish and shrimp tacos in north america. everything else is good also but I always have at least one taco.

Bill's definitely right about Rosa's. It's excellent. They might have the best tortillas I've ever had.
Mango's in Old Town Mesa on Main St is pretty darn good too.
