OK guys, since I received a load of help on the gauge restoration question http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/youguysrock.gif , just wondering about my dash pad.
Has anyone ever used these guys http://www.dashboardrestorations.com/ or should I simply go with Just Dashes? The difference in price between the two places is considerable ($550 vs. $850), hence why I'm asking.
Or is there someplace else you might recommend?
Thanks in advance.

If you are talking dash clusters which is the instrument housing try Henry Esthelheimer 614-497-1005 Lockeborne Ohio http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif

Sorry, I should have clarified. I'm not sure why I didn't. I'm asking about dash PAD restoration.

Tom,
Not sure what your project car is...but be advised that Just Dashes will not do a '69 Camaro dash pad.

Hi LZ. Thanks. I actually knew that as I also have a '69 Camaro. This is for my '68 442.
Kinda odd they don't do them. Guess it's maybe due to the ill-fitting reproductions made.

Tom,
Used just dashes for my Scrambler. Work was very nice and they matched the charcoal color dead on. It took about 6 - 8 weeks though to get it back. All and all very satisfied.

Henry did my housing, and did a terrific job....shared a few beers with him a couple of times.
I haven't seen him in years, but heard he was ill. Is he better and back to his old self? Certainly hope so.

Hey! King Lush! His name is Estheimer. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif
He did my dash carrier, and for as long as I've known him, he has always been a great guy. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif He also knows more about that piece of plastic than anybody alive, and based on the number of hours he puts in on each one he does, he should be charging a whole lot more. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/worship.gif

Tom,
The Camaro dash pads I've seen that Just Dashes have done are too big and oversize when they're finished. The edges have a bigger radius too. Looks like a dash pad on steroids. There were a couple of cars at the Camaro Nationals this past year that I saw.
I don't know how they are on other vehicles as I've only seen their restos on Camaro dash pads. In the world of Camaros, I always recommend NOS or good used for someone trying to do a car correctly.

I think I'm leaning towards that on the 442, as well, Jerry. I'll never find a NOS one, but I should be able to find a nice one.
I'm definitely doing the same for the Camaro when I get to that. I've seen some of those repops and they fit terribly.

For all my complete dashboard restorations, I use Just Dashes for the pads. Excellent work.
