I saw the Mach 5 on TV and in the catalog, but when I got to BJ...........I never saw it.
Does anyone know what happened to the Mach 5? Did it sell, or was there an issue?
Thanks,
John

I think the ASPCA and / or DYFS confiscated the car; something about locking a little boy and a chimp in the trunk? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

I knew I should have picked the middle one http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
But for real, where did it go. By the time I got there on Fri. morning...........only the batmobile was left.
Maybe Chim Chim took it for a joy ride instead of the GRX http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif
Nice pic Bruce.

I looked it up in the auction catalog...and it was lot 985.1.
I then looked at the results from the auction and there is no Lot 985.1
It must have been pulled from the auction...or it would have gone off on Friday... http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif

I saw the car last Sunday at a classic car show in Miami. I've got a picture of it, if someone has an e-mail I'll send it so they can post it.

How many of these things were built? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif This one has stripes, so it's not the same car.
An interesting paragraph on a dealers website that may or may not explain what happened here:
"Be forewarned that if you are gullible enough to purchase an illegally molded copy of Mark Towle's Mach 5, you are certain to experience legal entanglement with the Mach 5 franchise and experience the total loss of your investment! Our Speed Racer Mach 5 turnkey is fully drivable and one of our licensed replicas recently made a U.S. trek 3000 miles from coast to coast."

The pictures I posted are of Kit body on an '86 Vette. No reason you couldn't drive it anywhere, although parking it might cause some headaches. Ever bend a chin spoiler? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/no.gif
