Well as most of you know I did't have a date coded L78 motor in my 68 L78 nova. When I restored the car I just put together a 68 396 until I found the correct date coded parts.
That was in 2004 and it took me three years to come up with all the part's. It is still standard bore with all the correct internal's. ( Except the cam it is not a stock grind) I have spent the past month or so doing the engine swap. I fired it up today and does she sound mean! I am looking forward to the spring to take it for a ride. Just a couple more things to take car of then I am back onto the 67 chevelle. The motor that was in the nova is going into the chevelle.

Jason, looks great.. If that is an MSD Billet distributor you are running, you can install an old style D308R Delco Cap on there to camouflage the distributor.. Almost makes it look like an original distributor...

AWESOME!! Rich http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif

Very nice work, any chance i can get some feedback on the brand of that lift and if you would recommend it as i am in the market for a 2 post lift http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/worship.gif

Rich,
Yes it is an MSD street ready distributor and a blaster coil. I thought about changing the cap and painting the coil, all I would have to do is change the ends on the plug wires.

As for the lift I looked long and hard for one. You can spend 2k-5k on a 9k lb lift. I am a hobbiest don't really need a comercial lift so I bought an american made lift I can't remeber the name I will look today. I lucked out I bought it used from a local want ad. It was 1 year old and the sales man that sold the guy the lift repo it for lack of payment. I paid 1500.00 dollars for it! I saved about 1000 dollars. I was told it was the same lift all the walmart service centers use.

That may just happen. It all depends on my son's pop warner football schedule. It is a hard time of the year with the kids sports and school starting back up. I had a real nice time when I went in 2007.
