According to the tool and die makers there. No one is in the slightest hurry to get the line up to speed. No leadership coming down from the top at all. What is going on with GM? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Those are pre production mules, test cars or show cars. Production was scheduled for 2-16 and then slipped to 3-16.
Roll out in 2008 was initially looking good then quickly bogged down with option issues from suppliers, litigation, and GM looking to cut corners to save money.
My 2SS is still on order - as there is no rush to cancel it due to GM not getting the pre-orders built until 10-09 or LATER. Initial ordering window opened on 10-13-08.
CAFE,GOVT regulations and GM's own design and RPO approval structure is like a Boa constrictor wrapped around the entire roll-out.
Oh yea there is that little detail about GM going broke too. Not holding my breath on getting a car that I want to buy any time soon. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif

Be sure to watch this video. Hit the play key off to the left and it will buffer up.

Rick and Greg have been very involved in educating the 5th generation enthusiast. They've given John Fitzpatrick a few headaches. GM spin is unbearable sometiumes....
"GM can not build what the consumer wants". Seems like that's been a problem for a couple of decades. Maybe when our elected felons mandate production things will be much better. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/no.gif
The new administration has them workin' very hard on the 2010 Camaro.........It will be called the "Glider"....wind powered of course...

I think you are right Sam. They appear to be doing nothing. The guys say that there is no push from management to get Camaro production up to speed and the workers have been back for over three months now. GM seems to be more worried about getting Camaros into each dealership than they are in filling orders from people who want, and are willing to pay for the cars right now. In this economic climate, I think you had better get those sold cars built and out on the street. Cars in the show room aren't making them any money. Fill the show rooms later. There will be more than enough time for that. Anyone interested in buying a Camaro already knows what they look like and don't have to see one in person. These days any assembly line can build 60 vehicles an hour. 1000 hours and you will probably build all the Camaros that they will sell this year. Two shifts and you can build these in three months. I don't understand their thinking at all. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Their production plan makes you scratch your head. You have cars that are presold/customer ordered and they are on the back burner, yet they want to provide two cars to each dealer first. I guess the dealer can then mark-up the heck out of those cars. If GM thinks I am going to wait another year, they are mistakenly clueless. A Challenger or Shelby will do just fine. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsdown.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bs.gif

Maybe because of the reasons you fellows just stated is why GM is in the shape they are in! Called "Management being out of touch." http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/headbang.gif

In the areas of drivetrain and cosmetics Ford understands its market. To date on the new Camaro GM seems adrift.
I got to say the Stang is BAD and that is real tough for me to say. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif

The cosmetics on this car are FINAL for production. Car sold at Barrett Jackson did not reflect the final cosmetics for production. Also current air induction "intake" on the front of the car is completly non-functional and cannot be made to work. Body structure is in the way.

UGLY cars.I would not take one if you gave it to me.. Saw and sat in a few at the car show in Philly a few days ago.. People are buying these cars and going on blind faith. GM .. the new Camaro is butt ugly.. The mustang and GT500 KR is twice the car.. Here is what Ford is producing at the factory level right now.. This car is assembly line made.. runs 10's...

At 80 grand, I would hope it would be more than twice the car because a decked out SS is around 34 grand. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif 422 hp for 34K or 540 hp and a snake emblem for 80K. Hmm.....I can spend about 5K in mods on a LS3 and make more power N.A. than the blown motor in that mustang.
10s out of a rolling tin can that you can't drive on the street because it can't be registered? Several guys with stock C5 Z06s have run 10s at full weight with slicks. They started production, about what, 4 years ago now? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif
Hmmm...what happens to a C5 Z06 when you put a blower setup on it like whats on that mustang?

pretty harsh./ Sounds like sour grapes to me.. All the Mustang guy has to do is to step up to a super snake package and its now 725 hp.. Stock..

At least it's not an import. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/flag.gif
You've only got Chevrolet stuff in your sig, so I thought you were a bowtie man. I don't see a roush mustang listed in your sig with the Camaros and the Chevelle. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif I've seen a few of them. A guy that lives in my apartment complex at Clemson drives a white/blue stripe stage III supercharged roush everyday.

Too bad it's in a C5. It would be nice to have in a '69 Camaro though.
