Brother-in-laws son bought a 65 mustang and is going to put a different intake on the car. Thought it was a 289 but inside cast in the block is 302. So what is it??

No matter what, it's still a F@rD. I had three of those early Rustangs and each floor was weaker than the one before it. Do not try to stand up in those cars!! The last one I got from a little old lady never had been sat in by anyone but the driver. I soon found out the only thing holding in the floor on the pass side was the carpet. When it broke through in the frozen slushing winter I only had a sleeping bag in the trunk to cover the hole. I sold the car shortly after that with the sleeping bag frozen over the hole. Will have a alpha numeric code to get close to the year.
Like DOOE.D=70s,first O is year of decade.C=60s,E=80s.We will start there.Jeff
