Great, GM is sending all the HiPerf engineers and draftsman over to the econobox dept, more loud 4 bangers with polished cannon mufflers to come. Too depressing to think about...

On a serious note, can anyone explain to me why GM considers Pontiac expendable, yet claims GMC is a core brand? To my view all GMC has is re-badged Chevy trucks. Did I miss something? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

Exactly what I've been thinking. They must have a vision for the brand they haven't revealed. I bet next time they need a huge cash infusion they throw another division under the bus!

Pure stupidity at work. I got into an argument with some guy who said if GM scrapped GMC, GMC owners would go somewhere else other than Chevrolet because Chevy was such a different truck. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif That was after I told him I drove a Yukon and would just go out and get a Tahoe.

In 1990 my wife got a new OLDS Bravada (all wheel drive 4 door S-10 Blazer), I took it to the Chevy dealer to have the oil changed because they were running a 29 minutes or less change or it is FREE. They would not stand behind the offer because "they did not stock the filter" and would have to get one from a local Auto Parts Store! What a bunch of fricken idiots, they didn't even bother looking it up! And yes it does use the same filter as every other 4.3 S-10 pickup! So this attitude does not surprise me.

I am thinking the bigger trucks, like the box trucks, are all GMC. I don't think Chevy makes any that big. That could explain why they want to keep that brand. I was told by one of the guys that works at the Flint Truck plant that Flint and Pontiac Truck are the only 2 GM assembly plants in the Country that are running production right now. They are going on 50 hour work weeks with no overtime pay.

bottom line the car guys with a education have not been running the show for a very long time in detroit....the groommed educated azzholes have been raping the places along with there buddies on wall street and other bs business dealings around the country.

these people are so far removed from the majority of this country and have been from birth they see nothing wrong with there actions, blows my mind to listen to these idiots speak on CNN and read what they say...most of them belong in jail.

if a average guy pulled a 10th of what we have seen in the last year they allready would be serving 20yrs, when are we going to say enough!!!! country almost needs another revolution and blow out all the dirty politicians coast to coast http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsdown.gif

When you load up the truck and head to DC, be sure to stop by my place. I'd be honored to go along.

I AGREE WHEN YOU CAN CLAIM ON YOUR TAXES THAT YOU GOT PAID FIVE HUNDRED THOUSAND FOR A SPEECH. AND WE CAN NOT DO ANY THING TO SAVE OUR CAR MANUFACTORS.A LITTLE REVLOUTION MAY BE A GOOD THING. THEY JUST SEEM TO BE OUT TOUCH WITH WHAT REAL AMERICA WANTS AND NEEDS. SEND THE FORGIN CARS BACK TO THERE HOME AND LET THEM SELL THERE CAR THERE

If I want to buy an Audi, why shouldn't I be able to do it in our free market system? Of course, if you consider Audis "forgin."
