that 33 mile car was sold on Ebay a few years back if I remember correctly. big bucks
Cool car, I studied it for quite a while at the Chicago auction when it sold. It was inside on carpet so you could get under it easily.

The LS6 didn't come out of Concord, NC did it???
No..
That Fathom Blue LS-6 vert is the VOLO,Il. Auto Museum car.
Professionally restored since being featured in MM book.
It's not considered a stripe delete car either, because it was never optioned with them originally.
Base SS pckg. didn't get them unless ordered with working Cowl Ind. flapper hood,so you can't delete something it never had.
I was all over that then 28 mile LS-6 car here at Danas auction under the tent @ Boone Co. a few years ago.
Boy did it rain...got bid to 300K,then stopped.

Did it meet reserve??? At 300k, I would hope so.

What is it worth?? I am not up on these Chevelles.
Whatever someone is willing to pay to own it.
It's one of the few benchmark cars in the hobby,so it's difficult to compare it to another.
Dana always has interesting vehicles at his auctions.

You forgot to add a / in front of the word at the very end of your text.
[image] goes in front,(pic text here), goes at the end.

-------Somewhere around 1982/83 I was on a buying trip to Louisville and got to ride in the 33 mile car from 12 miles up to 18. Other than the guy driving I think I may have been in it for more miles than any of the former owners. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif.........Bill S

I've seen this car change hands a couple of times over the years and met one of the first owners last year by chance. I believe it will take considerably more than 300K to own it, I was fortunate enough to see it a couple of years ago in Kissimmee and it's quite the time capsule.

One of Dana's Chevelle's mentions its been diamond certified by Jeff Dotterer. What is diamond certification and how does that all work?

Chris White is one of the Diamond judges and is a memnber here. Best that he come on and explain it. It is based on a 5500 point system. No stone left uncovered. I have been through the process it is very thorough.

Check this one out at Raceway Park circa 1972. Big John's car was a regular finalist in Super Stock Eliminator back then.
