I bought this thinking that I was going to build another 427 big block for my car but I never will. It is an 854 casting 396/402 with a G-1-9 date code. It looks to be an original 4-bolt main high performance block with the big plug by the oil filter boss, the drilled and tapped cam plate and it still has the bolts for the windage tray. The stamp on the pad looks original and is stamped CE 973907. The block has been magged and should clean up nicely. I am asking $1,250.00 but if you need it I am open to fair offers or a local trade for a 427 or 454 4-bolt block that I can use for a stroker motor. I also have a Jan 1970 2-bolt 854 block that I would like to sell also. You can e-mail me at [email protected] if you have any questions or if you want more pictures.

That CE seqential number correlates perfectly with the block casting date.
And very fairly priced too..

Thanks Rick, I made a mistake on the date code of the 2-bolt block. It was cast in December 1969 L-1-9 and is stamped on the pad T1209CTW with a VIN that I added a picture of. I would really like to sell both of them because it would save me a bunch of money when I start drinking and talk myself into boring one of these .125 over and building a 427 with 074 heads.
