View Full Version : best way to restore/refurbish alternator?

i have an alternator that needs restored/refurbished... its original to my car (72z28) and definetly want to re-use it... it appears that the previous owner had spray painted it multiple times... what is the best process to get it looking new???

Rick...what is the turn around time if you send one to him?
I sent him three bird houses 5 years ago.
I got them back in my hands completely functional & gone through,meaning show quality restored,dated diodes,CZ stamps,Fan & pulley attached etc.,7 weeks later.
He & his son used to be regulars at VetteFest,twice a year.
In those days he would pick up or deliver your components to you at the show,if you desired.I don't think he does that anymore..

The last time I spoke to John the turnaround time was either 6 or 8 weeks. I cannot remember for sure which one it is. Cost is $170.

Unfortunately, my turnaround time for my dist, alt and horn relay has been 10 months - with calls every 3 months????????
