There was at least 10 nos ones in a GM box. I wonder where they went.

Huh?? http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif I have found 4 of the plastic bumper filler panels but that is close to the hood trim that I have come across. May have been one of the car/parts packages that went either east or west several years ago before my time.

If I am not mistaking Jeff I think there were a couple of different revisions for the GM hood lip moulding. Maybe someone can clarify this for you.

There was a box of 10 of them at one time. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif I can guess where they went. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bs.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bs.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bs.gif The guy was a thief. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bs.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bs.gif

Jason, this was 10 years ago. They were all the same. At one time I had 4 to 5 of almost every NOS part for 68 Novas.

In the mid 80's my father bought a 18 wheeler trailer full of NOS GM parts from the 60's for 500.00. He sold them in Carisle around 1988 he made a killing. The first piece of trim he sold was a 63 impala SS quarter panel trim in the plastic mold for 500.00. everthing else was profit.

Sorry to get off the topic of the original posting!

You are both right. She told me there was a parts list that went with the car but many items did not come back when the car did and she remembers these being on it.......... http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsdown.gif She thinks a LOT of stuff is missing. Really sad that someone takes advantage of another under those circumstances. Nuff said, can't do much about it now. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/no.gif

Wish I could help you with the hood molding but I have checked and double checked, they are NOT in her collection though we did find a lot of other neat items....... http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

The difference in the hood lip moldings is that the assembly line and early over the counter part had caged threaded bolts in the molding itself, the later part run was changed with less "bolts" in the molding and the bolts were changed to bare studs with twist nuts to attach. Obviously the older ones are more desirable for correct restorations

Thanks for looking Rick,
I didnt think that they were that hard to find, I guess they are. The repos are not very good. I just bought one from a parts place and they claim to be closer to NOS. We will see!
