SYC Members,

Sam Griffith and I are organizing a six car transporter http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif to pick up cars from the Phoenix area to the SCR12 show and return back right after the show.

We have 6 slots, 2 committed so far, 1 on hold and we need 3 more to fill the truck. We are working the details of the cost as we speak and will be back with a view of the amounts for the RT hauling.

We are also working this with a potential pick up in California, then come across to Phoenix for the final load. The idea is have the cars arrive on Thursday mid-day and depart on saturday afternoon after the indoor show.

We can accomodate anyone that would want to get their car to Phoenix by keeping their truck and trailer in a secure location. I think i can hold 2 setups here at my house if this helps.

Please PM me or Sam asap if you have an interest in holding one of the slots for your car. If your aware of someone that might be interested that has a Super Car - please pass this along.

Thanks for your time and we look forward to seeing everyone at the SCR 12 show!

Ed and Sam

Save a spot for Bruce so we can get him to the show!!! He does not take up too much room and could likely ride shotgun. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

As an update to this great opportunity - we will have prices available on wed - which i will post as soon as they come in. Let me say that our newest sponsor is weighing in to participate in our show this year, which is very encouraging. As of today we have 3 slots committed, a 4th slot on hold and we are looking for 2 more great cars to fill the trailer. The interest has been outstanding - we also can get a 2nd trailer if the need arises. Please encourage your fellow SYC members to join this years show.....i have a feeling this will be one of the best, especially with some of the cars that are completing their restorations in the next months.

More later and pass the word!!

Gentleman - we have concluded, for now, a round of negotiations for the best price, quality, coverage, and on-time delivery and return to Phoenix for the SCR12 show. We have received quotes from four carriers. Our new sponsor, Reliable, has provided a very competitive quote of $1500.00 per car for the ROUND TRIP from Phoenix to the SCR show and back. The enclosed trailer will accommodate 6 cars and this price is assuming we have 6 reservations for a full load. The enclosed hauler WILL STAY AT THE SHOW until we are ready to reload and head back to Phoenix.

I would like to thank Tommy Lee Austin for his help in obtaining a great quote from Reliable. As of today, we have 3 slots committed, 1 on hold and we need 2 more enthusiasts to bring their pride and joy to the show. To add some new flavor to the show, 3 of the committed cars have not been to an SCR show before!!

We will work on the detailed logistics over the next few weeks in preparation for the show. We will also obtain the latest commitment date possible from Reliable - so please pass the word, provide us any recommendations for other cars to join the trip.

PM me or Sam if you have any questions please. When we get additional info or pertinent info from questions, ill update this thread accordingly.

Thanks again for the support .........

Ed and Sam

Let me be one of the first to say Thank You to Ed, Sam and the rest of the folks who make this event the One-Of-A-Kind/Can't-Miss gathering it has become. Too many of us fail to give credit to the owners for their dedication to, and enjoyment of this hobby. It's obviously not cheap to get these cars to Collinsville, Rosemont, or many of the other shows across the country. And to do this knowing there is no reward, trophy, or reimbursement of any kind is testament to the love of these cars and the friendship that they have brought.
So to EVERYONE who brings these special old hunks of iron for the rest of us to reminisce and drool over, http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif a HUGE THANK YOU from a grateful hobbiest. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/worship.gif

And I know I'm speaking for Many, Many others when I ask, "Is it September yet?" http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/flag.gif

Fellow SYC members - as an update to the SCR show and dedicated enclosed hauler we arranged, we have now 4 CARS COMMITTED for the SCR show. We NEED 2 more cars!! I would ask for any help that you can provide to either bringing one of your cars as part of this transport or suggestions of individuals that we may not know personally that could be interested. There has to be more than 4 cars from the West Side that is interested in going to the show.

Sam and i would like to wrap up the commitments asap so we do not have any surprises when we load up the cars.

Thank you for the support and any help or suggestions.

Bump to the TOP

We are getting close to the date and we are stalled out at 4 cars committed. WE NEED YOUR HELP PLEASE with suggestions of who out here on the west side of USA would be available to join in.

ALSO - still looking for Bill Hunter email or phone number.

Thanks in advance for any help!

As odd as it seems, we do not not contact for Bill, as he lives in the middle of nowhere. He gets reunion info from a friend in or around St. Louis.

Guys, as an update...we are heading to a crisis getting the trailer full....as well, it looks like we lost one of the 4 we had secured.

SO - need any help from the members to add to the truck or its not going to be financially feasible to do this.

If there any mid west guys that need a car hauled from Collinsville to Phoenix, this would help...so any snow birds on the site that would consider a one way to phoenix, we can help - that would only be 750.00 for the one way based on the full load....that is a great deal.

Let me know asap for additional takers.

I tried contacting Bill Hunter again, through his daughter-in-law, but it bounced back...we literally have no info on Bill, as he always made contact through someone else. Seems like he has a friend around St. Louis with a 'Vette, that maybe has contact, but no idea of that gentleman's name...?

SYC Members - related to the SYC show, i regret to say that we cannot get a full load to transport our cars to the show to take advantage of the great deal Reliable has put together for us.

It is a big dissapointment for us, but we are already starting the process to try this again for the Nov show in Chicago. We have contacted Bob Ashton and he is assisting us with getting a full load of 6 cars so we can make the event.

Thanks to everyone for their efforts in trying to make this happen. From the list of attendee's and cars, this looks to be another great show.

Thanks again....Ed and Sam
