Hello Again Fellow High Performance Chevrolet Enthusiasts!

After completing my first L-88 Corvette racing book, I am now starting a second book project that concentrates on high performance street driven Chevrolets and Corvettes.

This book will contain a wide variety of Chevrolet models such as COPOs, Corvettes, and other low production hi-performance Chevrolet models.

I am planning to make this book smaller than my first one which was over 400 pages. My goal for this second book is around 120 pages.

This should bring the cost down to around $35.00 retail price for a full color hardbound book.

Would you like to have your car photographed for this book??

Here is a list of high performance Chevrolet models that I am in search of:

1957 Black Widow Chevrolet
1957 Fuelie Corvette
1960 Le Mans Corvette
1963 Z06
1963 Z/11 Impala
1965 396 Corvette
1965 Z/16 Chevelle
1967 Z/28 Camaro
1967,1968 Yenko Camaro
1968 COPO Nova
1969 COPO Camaro
1969 COPO Chevelle
1969 Z/28 JL-8 Camaro
1970 LS-6 Chevelle SS454
1970 ZR-1 Corvette
1971 LS-6 Corvette
1972 LT-1 Corvette
1974 454 Corvette
1975-77 Greenwood Sebring GT Corvette
1978 Greenwood Turbo Corvette
1978 Silver Anniversary Corvette
1978 Indy Pace Car Corvette
1987 Callaway Corvette
1990-91 Hi-Speed Callaway (Optional Body Panels)
1990 ZR-1
1996 Corvette Grand Sport
C5 Z06 Corvette
C6 Z06
2009 ZR-1

This is just a tentative list, but it covers all the heavy hitters. Honorable mentions will be seriously considered, such as Showroom Stock Corvettes and other very low production models.

I will be photographing cars in May, June and July 2009. Possibly at the SuperCar Reunion in September as well. Cities such as Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Louis, Kansas City, Minneapolis, and other Midwestern areas will receive the primary attention first. Locations more distant from the Midwest will be secondary.

If you have one of these models and would like to be considered for inclusion into this book, please write me back with the following information:

Year and Model,
Your Name,
Address and Location,
and which weekends would be most convenient for having your car photographed.

I am going to try to use the Memorial Day Weekend for my first batch of photos.

A new email address has been activated for this project. Please respond to this address:
[email protected]

Don’t forget, for those of you who procrastinated on getting your own copy of Corvette Racing Legends, The Story of the L-88 Option Package, I am still personally signing copies when purchased. My sale price is still in effect, and I will be bringing the last few cases of books to the 2009 Bloomington Gold Corvette Show.

This book contains several photos of Don Yenko and his L-88 Corvette racing accomplishments.

I should have my widescreen Corvette Racing Legends DVD completed in time for the Bloomington Gold Corvette show as well.

Hope to hear from many of you!

This is great news, Dr. Pete. Your Corvette book is nothing short of amazing and I highly recommend it to anyone who has a love for these cars. The information and photos in this book is stuff we rarely get the opportunity to see.

I am sure I can provide leads for choice candidates for at least 3/4 of your want list, and most are within a few hundred miles of your home base. [email protected]

Look forward to seeing you at Bloomington and SCR, if not sooner!

Bashton

Thanks Bob!

I want to publicly thank Don Stowers who has so graciously agreed to let me photograph his SuperCars for my new book. I'm still looking for some more great cars to photograph for this sequel to my L-88 book.

1965 Z/16 Chevelle

This new book is going to be great! It will not be as thick and heavy as my current L-88 Corvette book, and it will be priced significantly lower.

Please contact me at: [email protected] if you would like to have your car included in this new book.

I did not see any SS427 Impala cars on your list.
I am sure it was just an oversight!
There are a handful of L72 cars out there, and a few more L36 cars.
Just trying to be helpful!

The list is down to three now!

57 Black Widow Chevrolet
Z/11 Impala
Z/16 Chevelle

That's it. I know there is at least one corrct Black Widow 210 post out there. Saw it many years ago and it was not a tribute or a clone. I'll have to dig out my old magazines to see if they mentioned the name and home town of the owner at that time.

I want to again thank all of you who have responded to this post. I'm looking forward to meeting you and photographing your cars. This book will give you and your cars the credit that they deserve! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif

Lamar Walden in Georgia restored the only remaining '57 Black Widow in the Georgia. I'm pretty sure it was the Nalley Chevrolet sponsered car. It was back in the early '80's when he found it and I wanna say it parked at a transmission shop or something similar and was being used a dog house. Can you imagine that?!

Due to the large amount of responses I've been receiving from fellow enthusiasts, I've decided to split the photo content into two separate books!

I will be creating one book just on COPOs and dealer built specials and will have a separate book on unique and rare Corvettes.

Otherwise, I would have too much stuff all in one book.

I'll post a website later this summer and will have an email contact list setup on that site as well. When the website is ready, I'll put the link here so you can see it.
