Beater came with two sets of traction bars one set in the trunk well used, those are early Mr Gasket single arm bars, and this set was on the car, I liked them better so I sent the arm out for re-chrome and blasted and painted the mounts, I have seen them before but who made them???

Those are Ansen Ground Grabbers. There's a hole in the very rear that goes through all three bars in which allows the center bar to pivot between the other two bars that its' sandwiched between. I forget which is which: whether you add the bolt for street driving, take it out for serious drag action or vice versa. Shouldn't be too hard to figure out once you get them back on the car and study them a bit.

Thanks I did take note of the construction when I took them off and figured they were designed with a pivot point in mind for use, I thought by looking at them the center bolt would be removed for street use to pivot off the rear and front http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

By the way, they were probably orange originally. If you wanna see something really neat, find some pictures of a set of Ansen Ground Grabbers for a coil-spring car like a Chevelle or GTO. Now those are neat! They are pretty rare and I can't believe that I've never seen a set on a Day 2 Chevelle. Pretty ingenious in how they work and I've got a set that I've always wanted to buy a Chevelle just to be able to put them on something.

The arms on these were chrome originally, quite bad and cheap plating also.... the mounting pads were black, I put them in my media blaster and they did not seem to be repainted, but a distinct made in mexico was............ I guess in socal performance parts and import has been going on alot longer than we like to remember!

Very cool, I have a set of factory chrome ones as well on a '67 Camaro from Cal, first chrome set I had ever seen all the ones I recall seeing were black back in the day. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif
