Chris:

Great job and super documentation for the car! I knew it was you who bought the collection even before you both posted. Congratulations and I'll get out to your place soon. I'm sure that I will see you at Mecum, Ed

Chris:

Okay, you've got my attention. I looked at your website and can't find the "Ed" car or another link. Tell me what you found before I go spend all of my money at Mecum. Ed

Great video and looks like a real smooth transaction..congrats to both of you guys!

Chris, I will gladly be the back up driver at the SCR if Max can't make it. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif ( I did help load for a little while. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif)

LOAD? You picked the lightest box and then proceeded to buy a 12 pack of Coors Light and drink it as we continued to load! However, with the same 12 pack of Coors Light I think I could forget about your pathetic effort and let you drive.

You guys should have called me, I would have helped you load up the stuff or brought a 12 pack to sit and watch! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif And Chris, you could have picked up my 70 L78 car while you were in the area! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif

Chris, Ok maybe I didn't do that much I did try to get you to unload the ramjet motor http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif. The best part is Max saying how I found the motor on tape I think I smell a finders fee $$$ http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif Anyway I hope you can post some pics of the car as you are restoring it so we can all see it get finished. See you at SCR http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif

It obviously was difficult to part with what you've accumulated over the last 20 years. At the 3.20 mark in the video, the new owner looks like he has heard this story one too many times.

Max has had some cool parts/cars for as long as I can remember. I bought/traded some parts from him back in the late 80's/early 90's for my 68 Camaro SS396 convertible. I'll have to stop by one of these days when you and Steve are around with my 70 L78 car. Or you guys just need to stop over at the Bensalem Hooters Cruise Night on the last thursday of the month! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif

So what will be done with the ZL1? A full resto of course, but after that does it go up for sale? Personal collection?? Off to one of the big auctions?

How do you come to an appropriate value on such a valuable car that needs a complete rebuild? Is it a matter of current value (which can be tough to estimate on a car like that) minus restoration costs??

Thank you for posting the vids!!

I am glad you enjoyed the video. I am blessed to be able to do what I love!
The ZL1 is available for sale with the restoration. The complete restoration has already begun. At any point during the process the car can be purchased and a restoration agreement signed. As far as the value, I use some recent private sales and public auction sales to determine a value. Like usual I rely heavily on Nickey Chicago and Stefano to value my cars and to sell them.
Thanks for the post

Hey Chris, how about posting some pics of the restoration. I'm sure more than one person would love to see pics of the restoration on such a rare camaro.
