The gentleman who had the M22 and BE rear end out of my COPO met with me this weekend and we made a deal to reunite the parts with the car . The person who had these parts had been waiting a long time in hopes of being able to buy the car. I was in the right place at the right time and moved very fast with no knowledge that anyone was looking for this car or that the original trans and rear end was still in existance. My criteria for what I wanted consisted of a minimum of original motor, 4 speed and that was it .... so when I found a COPO with original motor and a protect-o-plate I thought I was livin' right !

I am not sure how many COPOs are out there with the original drive train they left the factory with but I am pleased to be the caretaker of one http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Van,
Congradulations!I knew it would work out eventually. I'm glad I was able help put you two together. To me that is what the hobby has been about, its not always about the money!

Mark you were key . I didn't want to divulge any of the players names in this deal without making sure it was OK with them first. Not sure this would have happened had you not hooked me up with info ! Thanks again.

I will have that story . The seller agreed to do a written statement and the original owners brother-in-law who was the second owner has said he will let me do a Q & A on video. I am looking forward to that because an hour with him on the phone went by in flash as he told me story after story , such as ......

" I used to put a 20 dollar bill on the dash and I would tell a passenger , if you can grab it you can have it . And when they would go for it I would drop the hammer and it would just plant them back in the seat . Never lost any 20 dollar bills "

The $20 story is actually Carroll Shelby's, no? He actually licked it so it would stick!
