Has anyone heard of this option or even heard of such an animal. I found a 69 Chevelle 396 4 speed with a decal set that calls out Phython. There is going to be a GM here shortly I can feel it. I can post a pic of needed. It appears to be factory. Any help appreciated

Yes same car. I googled and found someone asking about the same car on Team Chevelle in 2001. I looked at a nice day 2 68 Malibu yesterday but it was a 327 4 speed.

Cool http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif. What is the base color of the car? O. Gold? Looks to have more of an orange tint to it. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

No I need to be careful as this is new territory for me. Have you heard of this before Pete?

Back in the day, various dealers did their own personalized thing with cars. Gorries, a down town Toronto dealer had their '67 Black Panther Camaros. The above car is probably something along this line.

Python decals were an offering from Trim Line in the mid to late 70's, so I would bet that was done on a used car lot back then. They look like old Trim Line colors too.
I'm a former Trim Line guy.

I inquired about a 1969 Chevelle SS that was for sale for $6,800 on craigslist yesterday. The Chevelle was supposedly an original SS (no pics) and when the seller sent me some pics last night, it turned out to be this same Chevelle with the python graphics. After obtaining the cowl tag info, it turns out that the car was originally fathom green, so evidently the decals were not installed at the original dealer (unless that involved an entire color change).
FYI... The car is located in California and available for sale - now with a decent SS hood on it. I can't vouch for it other than it looks solid (no rust in the trunk) and I will gladly share any info or photos that I received.

I think StriperSS already nailed exactly what this is, just a Trim Line stripe kit on a late 70's repaint.
