Looking for a finish to replicate original "aluminized" finish on steel pipes. I have original day-two pipes that I want to restore to original look. These steel pipes are in excellent shape but have surface rust. I spoke to Tom Gardner (Gardner Exhaust) and they use an outfit in CT to aluminize their Concourse Kit exhaust flanges.

If you have experience with restoration of pipes I would appreciate your input. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif

Sam,
The company Gardner uses is called Central CT Coatings. Ask for Gene Schaeffer (860) 528-8281. I used them to refinish a set of original NOS resonator tail pipes for an LS6 convert I did. Was very happy with them. They coat them inside and out so they end up being more durable. I can email you pics if you like.

Chris - that is what Tom told me but he could not remember the details of the company (that is Eric's job!). Yes, if you would not mind sending some photos that would be great. Do you feel that it replicated the original finish well? If you don't mind would you post here for others to see. If not pls pm me.

Thanks!

Gene does nice work, pretty reasonable too. He did my headers and they came out very nice
