I got these valve covers with some parts I picked up today and would lie to know what they are for. They are factory painted valve covers. The strange part is they have no drippers. I do not remember seeing any factory covers with no drippers before. I thought they were possibly 65-66 Corvette but Crane's website says those covers had drippers. Any guesses?
Thanks,

All 69 Chevelle SS396 had chrome valve covers, even 325hp ones. Could be from a pickup.

I do not think Impalas and bigger cars had chrome valve covers

Thanks for the ideas guys. So 69 low horse big cars came with non dripper covers? Truck is also a possibility except I do not think the driver's cover would need the brake detent.

I think I see clips on the inside of the drivers side cover for the temp sender wire??? If so 66-67 396 fullsize valve covers.

If only they had drippers, I need a set just like that but with drippers. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Bummer. Just put a couple eraser marks in the primer before painting them to simulate the spotwelds. Then you can run roller rockers with the correct look.

I parted out an all original big block 1969 Caprice years
ago. It had these identical valve covers right down to the
non-drippers provision.

Definetly 69 they are the only year that had that hump on the rear of the valve cover

Interesting. Maybe 66-69 big car?

69 would not have the clips for the temp sender wire on the inside, 66 and 67 did. from 68 up as I'm sure you know the temp sender was in the head by the exhaust manifold. ?????

I thought the little bump-out on the driver side cover was to clearance the aft-most dripper.

All of you are wrong, they are A 67 big car there are two wire holders on the left cover at the top close to the intake 67 they used this for the water temp gauge. The 69 would have one on the outer LH cover the wire then goes to the head. and a 68 lh cover would have NO clips on the LH cover
