If you've been around for awhile on this site...you've probably seen me post about this event before.

The company that I work for donates the use of new watercraft every year for the Barrows Neurological Institute...who donates their time and expenses (with the help of businesses like ours) so that neurologically impaired (para, quads, Spina Bifida, and many other types of disabilites) can have a "normal" fun day at the lake like every one else...

It's a great time for me...as I normally give rides on the watercraft...and help with transfers on and off the watercraft as well. This year, I am pretty much just doing picture and video documentation...though for the first part of the day...I was doing the transfers.

I brought the family out as well....and even convinced my boss to come out with his family and volunteer.

Tomorrow, we will be back at it...bright and early.

Oh, by the way...the company that I work for was nice enough to donate the use of a Yamaha jet boat for me to use all weekend http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Here are just a few shots....

Many more will be taken tomorrow...

Kristin...our RideNow Girl Manager was nice enough to come out and volunteer with her boyfriend as well (He's an EMT)

Here are some long range shots of the mono skiing about to get started. Hopefully I will get some video of this tomorrow...

Our watercraft are used as chasers with EMT's/lifeguards on board...in case someone falls....and they are also used to give rides to the more stable people!

If you need help, put me on the list for next year. This looks like a great time while helping a very worthy cause. I can bring my Sea Ray Sundeck and the kid as a co-pilot, we would be glad to help out.

Hey, should Kristin need a boat to ride in next year I could let her ride with me.

http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/scholar.gif long before the beer cooler was standard equipment as a counter balance , the helm was positioned to starboard to counteract the torque of the clockwise rotation of the prop. (fat skipper kept list to a minimum).
Hulls are now designed to eliminate that problem for the most part. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/flag.gif

oh yes, Great Job Bruce!!

I learned to ski on Bartlett lake 30 years ago. I used the same SS El Camino I still have to tow my boat down 10 miles of the worst washboarded dirt road and risked getting it stuck on the dirt launch ramp there. ( I hear its paved now). One day we arrived at the lake and were watching people swim (or so we thought) right in the middle of the ramp. A few minutes later a 4x4 backs down and one of the "swimmers" comes out of the water with a tow rope which he hooks up to the 4x4. Then then proceed to pull ANOTHER 4x4 and an empty trailer up from the depths. Guess someone forgot to set the parking brake.

...good times on Lake Bartlett!
