Yes, they are pretty straight forward. I may have a set of instructions I can post. Each terminal is labeled though so its pretty fool proof.

the wires are still attached to the sender, but disconnected from the tach....
wondering about where they should attach inside of the tach?

I probably still have the original diagram for mine too but I think everything is labeled on the back side of the tach. Your biggest problem might be finding batteries for the sender.

Why aren't yu showing us the pedestal tach next to it? I can see the wire look and part of a 990 sender poking out. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
There will be a positive and negative on the back of the tach.
