It's a Reproduction.

Wow! That was quick! The guy that owns the car swears it is the original window sticker and he says he has owned the car for nearly 20 years.

Thanks for your opinion! Any other feedback?

I agree that it is a reproduction. The last six digits of the VIN were stamped on the window sticker. It would be a much larger type face and was usually stamped in Blue. Ed

Is the 13637 VIN prefix used for multiple years? My 72 has the same prefix.

I have a couple original LS6 window stickers that I saved off to my computer, and neither has the VIN in a different font or size. But I do know what you're talking about, I have several original 1969 era Pontiac window stickers where the VIN is in a much larger font, different color, and sometimes crooked, like it was hand-stamped. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

I have several window stickers from 1970 Chevelles and they all look very much like this. The only thing I don't see on this one is the dealer and zone number as well as something missing from the "exhaust" notation. Other than that it looks pretty good. That being said, I have never put much validity into a window sticker as they are one of the easiest pieces of paperwork to fake and those feelings go way back into the 80's.

Update. After talking with the owner further, I did not have a clear and complete understanding. The attached is a copy of the original that the owner had made for display purposes, However, he stated that all the info came directly from the original which he states is tattered and faded and he does have in his possession. Hope this clarifies the situation. I guess my question should have been does the information on the form look correct because he said it was all copied directly from the original sticker.

Please also let me know what is included with the "Special Instrumentation" option noted near the bottom of the option list. I thought that was the actual Round Guage Dash with the Mechanical Guage Package vs the Round Guage dash with the idiot lights. However if that is correct, something is wrong because the car does have the round guage dash with the idiot lights which would have been standard with the SS package and thus would not have had "Special Instrumentation" listed as an additional cost option. Am I just crazy or is that correct?

Thanks!http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/burnout.gif

The RPO of U14 Special Instrumentation would include a tach, amp, temp, and the small fuel gauge.
