just looking for opinions on value... already own it, but trying to decide whether to restore it or not... if we do restore it, it would be done right or not at all... but, curious to your opinions on the value like it sits???
69 rs/ss 396... true #'s matching car (engine, heads, tranny, rear-end, among others)... real original interior... rust in lower qtrs & lower rear fenders... floors are real nice w/ only one small patch needed... 2-owner car (me 3rd)... original owner bought it here in my hometown and still lives here... have original bill of sale and protect-o-plate... real cowl hood car, tach-n-guages with endura bumper as well...??? thoughts on value???

That's a nice looking car with a great color combo. I can't comment on market value as I don't keep up with these cars. However, 4spd, cowl, neat interior, gauges, apparently original drivetrain, original paperwork. L34 or 35? In my book, it adds up to a worth-your-time-and-effort-to-preserve-this-piece-of-history! Of course it won't be cheap to do this resto correctly. And if you are looking to flip it, it is doubtful you would come out ahead. I would be proud to have such a stunner sitting in my garage. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif Good luck!

I believe it also had a endura bumper too. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

That color combo is quite rare, how ever some stuff seems to have been changed on it. Rear spoiler should be yellow, might have been added later. Hockeystripe is not like it should be, to wide.

It looks alright as a project to start on. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif

I would smooth out the rough spots and give it a good cleanup..only fix what you ahve to and drive it. You can always do the frame-off thing down the road. Life is short..drive 'em now!!!

I agree with Wilma - looks like it is all there and would make a great driver as is.

answers to a few ??? that have been asked:
original cowl hood insulation, no bubbling in the top, for a concourse restoration i would replace, but anything other than that i would only patch or re-skin, runs good!, 3:73 gear ratio, trunk is nice w/ very minimal rust... passenger floor (at floor not toe pan) needs small patch, door panels are truly MINT!!! headliner is in great shape...

I was at the Palo Alto CA Concours yesterday and saw a
'69 yellow / yellow houndstooth RS COPO. The owner also
had a 289 "dragon snake" cobra at the show.

[/ QUOTE ]I am amazed that Wilma thought of that all on his own! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/haha.gif It won't take much to tune-up, clean-up and maybe freshen-up some body panels and interior. Do that and then have fun and drive it! I agree with Tom and the rest of the guys! You don't always need money to have fun! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif

Thanks Scott!
The POP has to be mirrored to see it correctly. See below. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

It has/had a 3.55 axle in it. Are you sure it's an M21 trans, not an M20?

This is one of the first 714 interior cars made.

And I've never heard of the DY 714 COPO that was mentioned above. Anyone familiar with it?

I'm a sucker for survivors, so I agree with those that say leave it as is and enjoy it. I might try to lose the stripe and re-do it properly. Very nice ride!

Don't know. Chevy never included it on any POP that I've seen.
