Does anyone know if there are any differences between a reproduction fan shroud vs. an NOS one? Are there any marks, holes or mold differences that would tell me the difference from one to the other? I'm looking to get a 69 Chevelle big block shroud and would like to know how to tell the difference between an NOS and reproduction.
Thanks,
Marty
As far as the BB 2 & 3 core is concerned, they aren't properly reproducing the original design used on the 69-70 Chevelles.Only the BB 4 core design is offered.
The Big Block 2 & 3 core shroud is unique,in that it has a extra vertical lip overhang on the driverside to take up the extra gap when used with that smaller core.
The 4 core shroud doesn't have this D/S lip,due to the thicker core and is the same flush all around.
Because of this,an original BB 2/3 core shroud can run up to 4X more then a repop.

I know the picture is not the best, but can I tell if it is NOS or repop?

That's the later issued #914 produced shroud,if that helps.
THAT's the only one of the three original designs that's being reproduced today.
To determine if it's an orginal or a repop, describe the bottom lower outside corner on the passengerside,or post a close up pic of it if possible.

It has a bump there. I will post a pic later. Can you tell me if this is NOS vs repop and what application it would be for?
Thanks,
Marty

Can't tell by that. That's the driver side upper.
You need to take a pic of the passenger side lower portion.
