Hello, I am the proud owner of the one and only Stage II Yenko Turbo Z28. (3 were created, 1 exists) I am wondering if I could receive any information on how to register this vehicle with the Supercar Registry/COPO/YENKO http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif? I believe it is already registered with the COPO connection as I have a COPO and Yenko certificate of authenticity along with a ton of documentation, some with Don Yenko' signature, but I would like to update the registry with my information and the current whereabouts of the vehicle. I would also like to start showing this wonderful vehicle at SCR's. Your response would be GREATLY appreciated.
Sincerely,
Jason Stefanac

if its the white one, get with Tom or Rob Clary who run this site to update current owner info. Upcoming SCR is just around the corner and if you click on the SCR12 link at the top of the page it will give you all the info you need to register it for SCR12
Welcome to the site and congrats on a neat Yenko

Hello gentlemen, I have posted a few photos of my turbo-z under the Yenko pictures section of this site. The black Turbo Z is a stage I car, I believe that there are a mere 6 of those vehicles left in existence - this vehicle is a Stage II car, only 1 of which remains around today. I have a ton of photos if interested in taking a glance. I plan on bringing it to a reunion in the near future.

Our buddy Mo used to own this car, and it spent the majority of it's time parked next to our Yenko cars...shoulda never let it leave! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

That would be correct. I have paperwork that indicates Stefano was one of its previous owners. This vehicle has a substantial amount of pretty interesting documentation, some of which is signed by Don Yenko personally.

Indeed a cool car and I was fortunate enough to spend some time behind the wheel when it was in Stefano's possession.
If I recall correctly, I believe I even drove this one across the block in Scotsdale.
Congrats on being the caretaker of a neat bit of Yenko history. Please consider my invitation to show it at the upcoming Nickey Chicago Muscle Car and Corvette Nationals!

I would enjoy bringing it up to Chi-Town for the Nickey show - depends on my work schedule. I appreciate the invite. I will check the site for the show and see what the registration dead-line is. Thanks.. Jason

That is a very cool and significant Yenko,IMHO. I enjoyed that car very much. It will run with many stock Muscle cars of the 1960s-70s. It seems Don leaned that promoting his cars could be a two edged sword at times, so there wasn't much hoopla regarding 1/4 mile times.
There were Turbo development Z28s that were running into the 13 sec 1/4 et range.
I have tracked down another Stage II Turbo Z28, since I had that Car. It is Silver on Black. I have only seen pictures from the original owner and it also had Yenko emblems on the lower fenders, similar to the Yenko Deuce emblems.
The car still exists but the original owner would not tell me who he sold it to? Maybe someone else knows about this car??

The way race cars have gone turbo crazy as of late, I always felt these cars with the turbo'd V8 were ahead of the curve...I know Mo had told me he'd kicked around pulling the 350 out and working it over, but the car was so original at the time (was still wearing the original paint & stripes!) that he hated to touch anything.
Jason: I don't know what your schedule is like Labor Day weekend, and how far of a pull St. Louis is, but I know dad & I would LOVE to see that 81TZ again!

Hi Stefano, I remember seeing what was said to be a silver stage II car a while ago, but upon inspection I found it to have T-tops. From my understanding, no Turbo Z's came with sunroofs or T-tops. I think it was on ebay some time ago - I'm trying to locate the info. It was rather beat up as well, lots of missing paint, etc, etc... This vehicle is probably different than the one you are describing - I don't recall the metal deuce emblems on the lower fenders. Did the stage II come with those emblems??

Rob: I do plan on getting the Turbo Z out-n-about again, I will definitely check my schedule to see if it is possible to make it out that way. I currently reside in Charlotte, NC.

The T-TOP Silver Car was built by the Turbo Company in California, as a test car and I believe it had a 305ci V8 not a 350? The one I am referencing is a different Turbo Z28.
