Today Joe and I took my Dad to the Arnold Palmer Airport for the 1st Wings and Wheels event. My Dad was a professional pilot for years. We surprised him with a ride in the B-17...What a rush. You are free to move about the B-17 from the minute it leaves the ground. My seat was directly behind the pilots so my view was great. We buzzed the runway while I was seated in the nose of the bomber at tree top level...here are some pictures. This is a must do for any WWII airplane junkie..BKH

BEST seat in the house. That small oval window is open with air rushing in at 180 MPH..

Behind the pilots is an emergency escape exit. There is no cover over it, so you can stick you head out of the plane and get this wild picture at 180 MPH...

Buzzing the runway low and fast...

Great shots Brian...but there's no way I'd be sitting in that plexiglas "open" area...or sticking my head out of the top of the plane! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/eek.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/no.gif
