I'm at the point of installing the metal/chrome roof rail trim on several of my project cars and was looking for suggestions on what product to use for sealing them properly. I'm referring to the metal part that attaches to the body first prior to the roof rail weatherstrip installation.
The factory applied material appears to be a wafer thin double sided self adhesive foam product. I haven't found anything like that in my searches so far (at least nothing that thin). Is there some product readily available similar to the factory material?
I realize that other materials can be used (such as 3M caulking or dumdum, silicone adhesive, spray foam, etc.) but would like to duplicate the factory efforts if possible.
What have you guys been using on your first class resto projects?
I'm open for suggestions... Thanks! Charlie
