I was wondering if anyone out there from PA or possibly NJ might have any early pictures of my 69 Baldwin CoPo. It was originally Cortez Silver with a Green Stripe up the hood, over the roof, and down the back. The title says the car was out of the country for a short time, then was titled in PA 11/14/69. From what I was told, the first owner in PA had a last name of Powers. Then a short time after the car was sold to Jerry Cantrell and then approximately 1972 was sold to Joe Principie. This car was raced forever. It has 21,000 original miles. When Joe purchased it, it ran mid 11s - wound up running 10.80s. If anyone has any information, would you be kind enough to give me a call. I would pay for any ligitimate information and pictures. Thanks, Steve 215-237-2898.

Is there any original paperwork with the car proving that it is a COPO from Baldwin Chevrolet ? Iīm thinking; since Joel Rosen didnīt know about the 427 COPO-cars there would be no Baldwin COPOīs.

Knew of several copos purchased out of Baldwin Chev. They seemed to get some of the earlier built cars too. Is yours an early build? One of the NHRA guys I knew many years ago, Casey Miles, had a Baldwin Z28 and he also knew of many copos that came out of there. Very cool!

Brent396,

Did you know Jack Arnew or Larry Kopp? Arnew was a big Mopar guy from the '60's and '70's and Kopp was a many time NHRA world champ. Many neat cars came out of the Balitmore area.

This is not the first known COPO out of Baldwin. There are others.

But it is interesting that Motion didn't seem to use them as a starting point.

Most cars sold through Baldwin didn't have to go through Motion. During that time, most racers and car people didn't have the means to spend another $500-1000 at Motion for upgrades. It was all you could do to make the monthly payments.
