allen seems to be getting rid of alot of his toys. cars and boats. i was at a show with my vintage wooden raceboat in upstate ny. and he had some of his boats at the show. he donated a few to the museum and it was my understanding that the others were for sale.

It is cheap because it is a train wreck. Repro body tag.
Heater delete? "L89" crayoned on the core support? Sure...

I like all the x's all over the place... I've never seen so many on a car before... Heater box, behind the brake booster on the firewall, on the diffferential cover. on the radiator etc... All you need now is the circle around the x for it to be complete!!!!!! Or put some o's on it and play tic tac toe!!! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/haha.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/haha.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/haha.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/haha.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/no.gif http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif

I saw the car years ago. It was (freshly) painted red already and was partially back together.
Lots of options were added, but it had the VIN stamped L89 block in it back then. I think it may be original, but I didn't get a pic of it.
Car originally was 53-B, 711.

I seem to remember seeing the car in Riverside Ca. being put together. Before that I remember a car with the exact same options but painted blue and all apart missing the short block at an auction house in Valencia Ca. with a early L.A. trim tag that matched the blue color but you could see that the original color was green under some of the removed parts. Before that I saw the blue car in a very early VHS tape on Camaros. I have no facts but I bet it has been the same car.

A L-89 Camaro convertible was bought sometime in 2004 from a dealer in CA by a guy I know here in Phoenix. I'm pretty sure the TT was 53(Glacier Blue), black standard interior. I remember thinking it was a shame it hadn't been restored to its original color, I like Glacier Blue. A local camaro expert in Phx looked the car over at the dealer before it was bought. That car came with the original L89 block on a stand, it had some damage on the backend, or one of the corners from being dropped or from falling over at some point. I seem to remember it had another block in the car, can't remember if it was stamped. The consenus was that it was a real L-89 with a color and interior change. The car was Garnet Red and had a houndstooth interior. Sold at the RS auction in Scottsdale in Jan 05 (Saturday I think) for mid to high $60s (it had no reserve). I thought it was a good buy and would have been interested in buying if everything I had wasn't tied up in a car that went across the block about 3 cars after it. I don't remember it having all the chalk marks and some of the other fluff on it. Definitely didn't have the same TT. Don't know if this is the same car but... Sam, you following this?

Ok thanks for the info Kurt. The next question would then be if this is a real L89 ragtop, even with the issues with the resto in terms of missing items and the change in the interior and exterior color wouldn't this car be selling for a higher amount even with the absence of the supporting paperwork?
