Does anyone on the sight know anything about this car? It is a Kansas car and the engine stamping has some unusual numbers stamped on the front pad. I know many Kansas cars had the VIN stamped upside down but I have never seen the additional stampings. Any help would be appreciated.

Scott, the stampings are good. I am guessing the motor was rebuilt or something and that is what the extra numbers stamped on the pad are.

The seller came on either this site or the Chevelle website and asked a bunch of questions when he found the car...my recollection is that it was generally perceived to be the real deal.

I spoke with the owneox a few weeks ago when he had it on team chevelle for sale. He said he found it in a back yard and the people had no idea what it was. he said he found the buildsheet in the glovebox. He sounded like a pretty honest guy and seems to have given an honest description on the car.

I looked long and hard at this car to purchase when Paul found it. In fact the only thing that held me back was the fact is wasn't a stripe/cowl car ... I know I know. It's a great car http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/beers.gif

I talked with the owner also, and I believe it is as claimed.
I think it would be great to see one finally done without stripes. All we ever see are stripes added to the ones that didn't come with them.

I think it makes the car unique without them. I like it. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/3gears.gif

Another LS6 with "Malibu" emblems on inner door panels. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/biggthumpup.gif
That's because it was redundant when the now new RPO Z15 was ordered on the 1970 Chevelle,so they didn't mention the RPO B22 SS door emblems on the assembly instructions.
Z25 Chevelles had them automatically called out on their BS,because it was one of the base Super Sport ornaments. But in order to get a Z15 equipped Chevelle,(be it LS-5 or 6),you had to order the Z25 equipment first. So generally speaking those emblems were included when you upgraded to a Z15,but it wasn't noted on their BS and that lil glitch was why.
Chevrolet notified assemblers to start including the "SS" door emblems on all Chevelle Super Sports, regardless of Z25 or Z15,but a few didn't quite get the memo.
Having a Z15 specifically callout "B22" on the BS is the real anamoly.

Does the air cleaner code look like a typo? Looks like CP instead of CO for dual snorkel.
