Chevrolet did indeed produce a few promo Camaros with stripes like that....I think the Michael Lamm book has a few pictures...

I think the pics of the stripe are for GM promo use and I am not sure if that stripe ever made it to production. Just because it's in Lamms book doesnt mean anyhting as there are other errors in that book.
