For what its worth, I posted a few yrs back I had a 3130 carb I beleived came off a yellow z16 in florida (parted out). I got advice here that its for a big body chevy, and almost gave the carb away the other day, but then thought hold on (until I was sure).
Now I see a big dollar z16 on ebay (red- black top) with the same exact carb as I have (but mine is mint unrestored). same dates. even has stencil codes on top of fuel bowls,
Is a LIST 3130 the right carb for a z16?? I know a guy that wants my carb, but I want to be sure before I let it go.

3310 is the correct Z16 carb. Chevy sold them over the counter for years so it is common to see them. The original 65 carbs have many unique characteristics though and are quite valuable. What are all the numbers on the choke tower of the carb. There may also be 3 numbers on the left side of the choke horn.

Even though a 3130 is not a Z-16 Chevelle carb, it is off a 425 horsepower 65 full size Chevrolet and still relatively valuable, especially if it has the 65 only small inlet fuel/float bowls. Just by looking at a picture, the 1965 Holley 3310, 3130 and 3124 all look almost identical. I will attach a picture if a "real" 3310 carb for you so you can see the float bowls I am talking about.

The 3130 I thought had the small bowls.

It did unless it was a later service carb,

check out the car than makes me wonder, I believe a 3130 is correct, not a 3310. here this car is previously owned restored by a z16 expert (dave milner?). there is a perfect carb pick if you scroll down. mine has that same date code.

I guess with no more responses, and the car I referenced with a 3130 is a dave miner car, I will assume 3130 is the correct carb for a 65 z16. Whether a 3310 is also correct is outside my relm, but to me a 3130 is correct too if it was on a dave miner car.

Several years ago I restored a 3130 for one of Dave's cars, but I don't have the paperwork on that job handy so I can't tell you what the date was on that particular carb. I do believe he intended to use that carburetor temporarily while he attempted to track down an original 3310, which he finally did do. Perhaps the 3310 never found its way under the hood, I don't know.

For the record:

3130 = B body
3124 = Corvette
3310 = Chevelle Z16

Hope that helps.

the carb pictured in the ebay ad is dated second week of May and it appears that the car was built in April so that is not the original carb for that car

well if someone is smart and wants to market a correct carb for a z16, that ebay car went for 183k and One would think that chap that bought the car would swap in a correct carb. Nice catch on the wrong date code, wow.

I have a 3310 off a '65 Z-16. Took it off myself. Has a May, 65 date? EH stamped on the left side of the air horn. Has the GM part # stamped on the right side but I forget what it is.

I also have another that is a service replacement. Same EH stamp and same GM part number but a different date and larger fuel inlets.

This one appeared on ebay a day or two ago.

This is just to add to the discussion. I have no idea or opinions if it is real or not. It does have the right bowls, dated 541 with the EH on the opposite side from the 3310 stamping on the air horn.

I have one of these also with the EH on the left side and date on the right. Dated 551. Ours does have the correct air horn and base plate.
