. Hi all, The pictures that Chris posted on the site are of My Jerry MacNeish Documented Baldwin sold COPO . I am looking for any info on this car that I can get.The factory color was Cortiz Silver, and it was told to me with a Green stripe over the center of the hood, roof and trunk . The car has 21000 org miles on it . I am looking for any pictures of the car and any history that I can get . The car also has the side pipe hangers still on the rocker panels from the sidewinder exhaust, also the holes in the trunk from the elec Fuel pump lines, and it also has the holes over the heater core where the mallery coil was mounted. I think these are some Motion tel, tale signs . The first owners last name was ( Powers )and he raced it.The secound owners name Gerald Cantrell, and the third owners name was Joseph Principe and he also raced the car.All from PA. IF anyone knows these people or anyone has info on the car that could help me out . I would be in there debt.
Regards David.

-----I seem to remember a name from my NCRS days very similar to that Joe Principe name. It wouldnt be too big of a stretch to imagine that your guy was also into Vettes, would it??? You might get hold of Gary Mortimer at NCRS and see if its possible to check memberships, both old and current.......Bill S

I do not think he owns any vettes. But I am not sure. The guy I would like to get in touch with is the Powers guy because I think there is one more owner before him. The NICB Report only shows the three owners. Jerry said he thought the car had one more owner or it was out of the country for about 6 mouths before MR.Powers owned it.

Hi All !! I have a up date . I talked to the second and third ownwers of my Baldwin copo and both say it is a motion car. The green strip that went over the center of the hood, roof, trunk was a fader strip. started out lite green and got darker green as it went to the trunk. I am tracking down the first owner and getting closer , I will keep you posted. Regards David

Okay, I'm new here. But here's a tid bit of Info on a certain Corvette in a movie. The Corvette in the Cleopatra Jones movie is a 1973 Baldwin Motion Performance Phase III Corvette. Now my question is, how can I find the specs on that car. The reason how I know it is a BMP Phase III Corvette, is because I searched down when the movie came out. That's when I found out about, BMP of Long Island,NY. So with that, how can I find the specs???
Thanks for any help at all!!!!

Hi I talked to the third owner again. The strip was painted on !!! (not a decal) He said it was 12 to 14 inches wide and he called it a strobe strip because it started out light green and got darker as it went over the roof and trunk. He also said the color changes were about every 3 to 4 inches.

I believe he has said that it has signs of Motion mods...
Not a BM car.

Reads to me as the OP is saying his car might be a Motion car... not merely a car with Motion mods.

might be a Motion "shop" car, most likely NOT a Baldwin Motion car.
usually we try to steer away from speaking any legaleeze http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif
I get it that BM cars tend to be more desirable than Motion tuned cars. Certainly there are some exceptions- say maybe a Motion tuned racecar or car with racing provenance. Even a known street racing car tuned by Motion would be pretty desireable to me.
I am very suspicious with this car's association to anything Motion other than some over the counter parts, which is still kinda cool but a bit of a streach to speculate that it actually had any Motion wrenching or tuning done.
I agree with Bill, that the OP referencing "tell-tale-signs" is kinda(intentionally?) implying more Motion pedigree than what it may have.

Ok, Baldwin sold COPO.
Not BM?

I spoke to the guy over Christmas. It is definitely a Baldwin sold COPO, which is rare enough. Probably 1 of 2. He has previous owner testament that the car "went through Motion". Now what does that mean? Who knows. Could be anything. Hand-selected COPO by Joel Rosen for Phase III work and re-sale? It still has its original engine, so maybe somebody walked in for a dyno-tune, some sidepipes and traction aids? He is desperately pursuing leads for old pics and first owner.
If either Motion scenario is true, it is a significant car for sure.
