I've often wondered where this Deuce is now. This article is from a July 1988 M C Review. It only had 15000 miles then and was still with the original owner,Tom Wargo. If anyone can post it in a format where it can be read feel free to do so.m

Deuce VIN list has it delivered to "Spencer, PA" vs Spangler from the above article. Spangler is 20 miles west of Indiana, PA and about the same from Creekside where the Roofs still live today. I recall the Roofs talking about another "yellow" Deuce in their area. I think Marlin knows this Deuce.

VIN: -351589

One of seven delivered at Yenko (per the recovered sheets).

He still owns the car. He lives about 2 miles from me. I was friends with his daughter. The car hasn't been out of garage since the late 80's I believe.

Why would anyone do that, I wonder? Buy a nice car like that, put a few thousand miles on it and then just let it sit around in a garage!! http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

It's an original owner car, with approx. 14k miles. Original paint, drivetrain, full paperwork and several 'day 2' additions that the owner bought via the Yenko parts catalog. I've seen the car a couple of times, owner is very aware of its value and desirability.

I spoke to one of his local friends at the first GM of Carlisle show back in 2001, he thought I had brought the wargo that day! This local friend has a '70 FG SS350 Nova that now has a dual quad tunnel ram on it. Anyway, he told me that when he bought his SS350 car, Wargo was not to be outdone and went to Yenko and bought the Deuce. This was the car that did not have the wheels changed, the XT's were still on it when Wargo visited Yenko back in the day. He insisted that Yenko swap the XT's for the Magnums, which they reluctanctly did - but simply tossed a handful of 'Y' centercap decals on the front seat as opposed to installing them onto the caps.

BTW, this is not the spencer car. The spencer car is a 4speed with p/s, and was a demo car. That car is also alive and well. Spencer got a beige 4sp w/ p/s deuce after he wrecked his silver demo car into a bridge abuttment and totalled it. That silver car is still listed as being owned by Yenko Leasing to this day. Locals recall it just sitting out behind the dealership for years. http://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif
